• WE'RE BACK!: Thank you for bearing with us for the past two months since we last updated.  It has been a hectic and difficult period for us and we were unable to edit the site sadly.

  The plan that is being put forward is to work solely on our main website cremationofcare.com (for the time being) and drastically amend the layout of the CofC homepage and have more of a traditional blog style similar to Jack Blood's website deadlinelive.info (thanks to webmaster Kristen for promoting this idea).

• Video Surfaces Of 9/11 Commissioner Referring To “Missile” At Pentagon: Misinterpretation, slip of the tongue of deliberate disinformation? - An interesting video originating from the last anniversary of 9/11 has surfaced in the last couple of days and is currently doing the rounds on various video websites. The video features a segment of a CNN interview with 9/11 Commission member Tim Roemer during which he declares that the attack on the Pentagon came from a “missile”. Roemer quickly corrects himself: “Seeing one of our fortresses pried open by a missile… airplane, thinking about the number of people that died….”. Roemer states.

• Waterboarding of 9/11 Mastermind Saved American Lives, Bush Says – Critics call it torture, but on Sunday, President George W. Bush said he “firmly” rejects the term. He said the interrogation techniques used on some al Qaeda detainees during his presidency were lawful and “necessary” to get information that ended up saving American lives. “One such person who gave us information was Khalid Sheikh Mohammed” -- the mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, Bush told “Fox News Sunday.” Vice President Dick Cheney recently admitted that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was one of three individuals subjected to waterboarding.

• REMAINS OF 9/11 KILLERS FOUND - FORENSIC investigators have recovered the charred remains of most of the 9/11 hijackers - to honour a pledge that they would never be buried with the victims. The £30million CSI-style probe has taken seven years. Flesh or bone from 13 of the 19 Al Qaeda terrorists who flew passenger jets into the Twin Towers in New York and the Pentagon in Washington have now been identified. In the most intense crime scene investigation in history, scientists sifted through a mountain of concrete dust, buckled iron and shattered glass to find what was left of the terrorists. The final tally was 24lb of burnt flesh and shattered bone. A combination of dedicated FBI detective work and the brilliant skills of forensic scientists eventually put names to the fragments by matching them with DNA traces discovered at the terrorists’ hideouts. The high temperatures generated as the jet fuel exploded meant many of the 2,974 victims and some of their killers were all but atomised in the attacks.

• FDNY Lieutenant Admitted Plan To ‘Take Down’ WTC 7: Reinforcing conviction that Silverstein was referring to demolition with infamous comments on PBS documentary - Newly uncovered video from 9/11 featuring an interview with FDNY lieutenant David Rastuccio on MSNBC confirms that there was a plan to deliberately demolish WTC Building 7, as was originally indicated in Larry Silverstein’s infamous statement on the PBS documentary, America Rebuilds. In the clip, Rastuccio responds to the host’s statement that “You guys knew this was coming all day,” by stating, “We had first reports that the building was unstable and that it was best for it to come down on its own or it would be taken down, I would imagine that it came down on its own.” Though Rastuccio expresses his opinion that the building had collapsed without the aid of explosives, he admits that a plan had been in place to deliberately demolish the structure.

• Columnist Robert Novak among first to link 9-11 and "inside job" - A review of early newspaper reports on 9-11 reveals many surprises, including Robert Novak's comments on the possibility that the 9-11 "terrorists" were assisted by government insiders. PETER'S NEW YORK, December 27, 2008--Married as we seem to be to the digital age, it is a great comfort to be able to occasionally resort to "hard copy," tangible pieces of inked paper upon which much of the literary wealth of the world is recorded. Recently, while searching my "hard copy" archives, I came across some issues of the New York Times and New York Post published within days of the events of September 11, 2001. It is interesting to observe that what are often referred to by defenders of the government's 9-11 storyline as "conspiracy theories" were first articulated by mainstream commentators and experts. What follows are a few snippets of 9-11 related material gleaned from these early accounts. Interestingly, columnist Robert Novak was among the first to use the phrase "inside job" in connection with the events of 9-11.

• Conservative crowd cheers when Palin mentions 9/11, Iraq - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin charged through in Georgia today to campaign on behalf of incumbent Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss, throwing off sparks among the political press corps and likening the Republican run-off candidate to her onetime running mate Sen. John McCain. But perhaps more startling than Chambliss’ decision to use Palin — who was seen as having a deleterious effect on Sen. John McCain’s campaign — is the reaction of a crowd that greeted her in Georgia. When she said, “fellow soldiers, they’re down at Fort Benning graduating from boot camp and then on Sept. 11 beat the road to Iraq,” the crowd cheered.

• Obama told US faces 'new 9/11' - BARACK Obama was yesterday warned the US faces a terror attack a hundred times worse than 9/11 within five years. The incoming president was urged to halt the spread of nukes and stop fanatics getting hold of biological weapons. Former senator Bob Graham, who led a probe by Congress, said of the threat: “It would be 9/11 times ten or a hundred.”

• Nominee Would Lead ID Program She Opposed - As governor of Arizona, Janet Napolitano, President-elect Barack Obama’s choice for homeland security secretary, pledged that her state would not cooperate with a major domestic security initiative, the Real ID drivers’ license program. The program, which she would direct if confirmed as secretary, imposes stringent requirements on states for confirming the identity and legal residency of people who want drivers’ licenses. Ms. Napolitano said the law would impose huge costs on the states without reimbursement from Washington. In June, she signed into law a bill that forbids Arizona from cooperating with the federal requirements. The state law had no immediate effect, because Arizona already had a federal waiver allowing it to delay enactment until 2009. Last year, as the chairwoman of the National Governors Association, Ms. Napolitano testified before a Senate committee that the program would cost the states $11 billion. Since then, Congress has appropriated $100 million to meet some of the costs. Real ID follows the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission; it was passed without hearings or debate, attached to a mostly unrelated bill.

The topics of the debate were: 1. Are there unanswered questions? 2. Was the 9/11 Commission a legitimate investigation?

• Microsoft Corporation Censors 9/11 Dissent - Xbox Live is an online multiplayer gaming and digital media delivery service created and operated by Microsoft Corporation. They refer this platform as “the Ultimate Broadband Gaming Experience,” accessible on the Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles. After reaching 10 Million users, I decided to change my GamerTag (GT) to disseminate 9/11 truth to the console gaming world. About a a month ago, I changed my GT to www911TRUTHorg. Utilizing the headset, every time I entered a new game lobby I spoke to the other users in the “room” about the 9/11 Truth Movement. The responses varied: most people ridiculed or mocked the GT, while the others either commented with approval/praise, or said nothing at all. Either way, BOTH the nay-sayers and fellow truthers listened to what I had to say. In fact, many times the conversation of the game would revolve entirely around 9/11, the Global War on Terror, corporate war profiteering, the destruction of our civil liberties, etc… It was a great method of cyber-activism, until Microsoft caught on!

• Cynthia McKinney Prevented From Leaving U.S.: Former congresswoman stopped from boarding plane in Atlanta - Former Congresswoman and presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney has been prevented from leaving the country after she planned to give a speech in Damascus Syria at a Conference being held to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. “Today, November 23rd, I was slated to give remarks in Damascus, Syria at a Conference being held to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and, sadly, the 60th year that the Palestinian people have been denied their Right of Return enshrined in that Universal Declaration. But a funny thing happened to me while at the Atlanta airport on my way to the Conference: I was not allowed to exit the country,” writes McKinney. “I do believe that it was just a misunderstanding,” she adds, though why a well known former Georgia congresswoman who represented Atlanta, the city in which she was born, would not be allowed to board a plane raises disturbing questions. Has McKinney been put on a terrorist watch list merely for speaking out in support of 9/11 first responders and passionately questioning the official 9/11 story? As many will recall, McKinney was perhaps the first major public figure to doubt the official version of events way back in 2002, which at the time was tantamount to treason. McKinney has since become a vocal advocate for the 9/11 truth movement and appeared at numerous 9/11 truth conference and events.

• America Was Informed Of 9/11 America was informed of the attack by Egyptian and Russian agents: Several meetings were postponed at WTC - Nobody has been charged or punished for ignoring the alleged warnings about the attack on the “Twins”, the WTC on September 11, 2001 yet. Who knew and how did the USA react, i.e. why did it not react? Hosni Mubarak, Egyptian President, claims the Egyptian secret services warned their American colleagues at the beginning of September 2001 that al Qaeda was preparing an air strike on an American target, on American territory.

• The 2000 Cole bombing: Warm-up for the 9/11 false flag attack?: Connect the dots - There was no DNA evidence linking the Moslem patsies to it, there were no traceable boat parts, friendly vessels "just happened" to be close by, the ship was quickly sent back to the US for repair with no real investigation, there was no video from the destroyer itself despite all of its high security, alleged Yemeni CCTV video doesn't even show the explosion, the armed sentries were all on stand down and could only have fired first with orders from the captain or another officer, the bombs went off near the galley at lunchtime, the very hallmark of an inside job, many eyewitnesses and the mainstream media were clearly in on it (some even reported that the sailors on deck were talking with the Moslem patsies on the alleged boat before the bombs went off, and you can't converse with a hologram), the June, 2001 video of bin Laden bragging about it is an obvious fake, FBI agents were rushed over there to start the cover-up operation immediately, and the friendly Yemeni government didn't even have any alleged acomplices to turn over to us and isn't holding any of them now, proving that we tried to frame them.

• Howard Zinn: “I Don’t Care” If 9/11 Was An Inside Job: Another gatekeeper illustrates the intellectual cowardice of the establishment left - World renowned peace activist and left-wing anti-war icon Howard Zinn recently told an audience that he didn’t care if 9/11 was an inside job, echoing the disdainful and apathetic rhetoric of fellow liberal gatekeepers Noam Chomsky and Alexander Cockburn in dismissing the efforts of the 9/11 truth movement. Buddy Moore, Independent Candidate for US Senate in Colorado, asked Zinn if he would join him in voicing doubts about the official 9/11 story and in particular the demolition of the twin towers and Building 7. Zinn said he was skeptical of the official story but then stated, “I don’t know much about the situation and the truth is, I don’t care that much about it, that’s passed….that’s a diversion from what we really have to do,” adding that debating who was behind 9/11, “gets in the way of dealing with the immediate situation”. Moore attempted to ask Zinn a follow up question about allowing the perpetrators to go free but was largely shouted down by Zinn’s fawning army of left-wing sycophants.

• 9/11 Hero Dog Dies From Cancer: Canine Was Sacramento Fire Department Search Dog - Ana, an accomplished Sacramento Fire Department search dog, has died of cancer. She died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at Fire Station No. 56 -- where she was usually the only girl -- after spending her last day on the job, Capt. Jim Doucette said.

• 9/11: More than meets the eye: Discussion of the very real doubts over the World Trade Center attacks was conspicuously absent from the US presidential race. But America's international image will always be tainted as long as the uncertainty remains - Every so often attention is called anew to the doubts surrounding the true character of the events surrounding the 9/11 attacks. Recently, the report of the collapse of Building 7 represented such an occasion. Any close student of 9/11 is aware of the many serious discrepancies between the official version of what took place and the actual happenings on that fateful day in 2001. David Ray Griffin and others have analyzed and assessed these discrepancies in such an objective and compelling fashion that only wilful ignorance can maintain that the 9/11 narrative should be treated as a closed book, and that the public should move on to address the problems of the day.

• Lawyers for 9/11 Truth - An impressive, if small, group of lawyers has signed a petition calling for 9/11 truth at a new website called Lawyers for 9/11 Truth, at http://www.L911T.com. If you know any judges, law professors or attorneys open to 9/11 truth, send them that way.

• Attack on 'Truthers' who question 9/11 failed to address their issues - I appreciate The Province printing an article by National Post columnist Jonathan Kay about 9/11 and conspiracy theorists. Most papers are too afraid to talk about the conspiracy theories that abound yet Kay admits "39 per cent of Canadians either reject or doubt the official explanation for the 9/11 attacks." Nevertheless, I am somewhat disappointed that Kay wrote an article stating that the Truthers' conclusions are wrong and their concerns are nonsense without citing a single fact.

• Senior Corporate Executives Warned to Leave N.Y. on 9/11 - Foreign Policy Journal has learned that senior executives of a major U.S. international corporation may have been warned to leave New York on September 11, 2001. According to an inside source, one of the senior executives of the corporation told him beforehand that “something big” was going to occur and so other corporate executives would be travelling out of New York.

• Debunking the 9/11 “Dust” Theory - Some peripheral folks in the 9/11 truth movement claim that exotic high-energy weapons were used to bring down the Twin Towers. The overwhelming majority of credible scientists, engineers and others in the movement do not believe this. The proponents of the star wars weapons theory argue that video footage shows metal spires “turning to dust”, which they think proves that futuristic weapons were used. Many of us have pointed out that the spires actually fell down, and that dust from the pulverized concrete simply fell off the spires as they were falling, hiding the fact that the spires were falling and creating the visual illusion that the spires were “turning to dust”.

• Only a 9/11 can prevent Obama's victory - Everybody on American television is being very polite on the eve of this historic US presidential election. In an increasingly desperate attempt to keep the race competitive, normally candid commentators are still treating both Barack Obama and John McCain as potential winners. It's a bit like an Antrim v Kerry all-Ireland football final where RTE's commentators keep mapping out surreal scenarios where the underdog can win. Rather than best election etiquette, in some cases the coyness is prompted by superstition and a fear of putting a jinx on the favourite.

• Members of Israeli spy ring 'related to 9/11 hijacker': 'Lebanon is an open theater for espionage' - Two men arrested for running an Israeli spy ring in the Bekaa Valley are relatives of a suicide hijacker who piloted a plane in the September 11, 2001, attacks, a security source told The Daily Star on Sunday. The Lebanese Army announced on Saturday that it had arrested two people suspected of involvement with a spy network that gathered information for Israel's intelligence services.

• The Phantom USA Today Building Fire and the Evacuation of Arlington’s ‘Twin Towers’ on 9/11 - In a recent interview, Assistant Chief James Schwartz of the Arlington County Fire Department (ACFD) revealed an intriguing detail relating to the 9/11 Pentagon attack. Just before the Pentagon was hit, ACFD responded to alarms going off at the USA Today building, located a few miles from there. Yet it is unclear whether there was actually any fire. Other evidence indicates that, as a result of this alarm, when the Pentagon was hit a significant number of fire and medical units were already on the road nearby and available to quickly respond to the attack. Curiously, the two buildings of the USA Today complex were known as the “Twin Towers.”

• VIDEO: FOX NEWS: " We Need Another 9/11" - Broadcast on Fox News (August 2007), Columnist Stu Bykofsky claims that America needs a new 9/11 to unite the American people, because they have "forgotten" who the enemy is. He also claims that "there will be another 9/11", and Fox News Anchorman concurs: "Does this columnist have a valid point?" "its going to take a lot of dead people to wake people up." "Another attack on America is inevitable"

• Sarah Palin Supports New 9/11 Investigation: Alaska Governor gives unexpected answer during Ohio rally - John McCain’s presidential running mate Sarah Palin, much to the bewilderment of the 9/11 truth community, seemingly expressed support for a new investigation into the terrorist attacks during a rally in Ohio last week. Asked by We Are Change Ohio, “Do you support the family members and first responders who are calling for a new 9/11 investigation?,” Palin responded, “I do.” “I do because I think that helps us get to the point of never again, and if anything that we could do could still complete that reminder out there,” the Alaska Governor added. Palin was aware of the context because she then asked the cameraman if he had been affected by 9/11. Of course, one would have to be incredibly naive to think that Palin, at best a befuddled Republican poster child and at worst another establishment Neo-Con, would follow through on her support and back a new 9/11 investigation should John McCain snatch victory from the jaws of defeat and take the White House.

• BBC Set To Air Third Smear Attack On 9/11 Truth: Broadcaster re-hashes WTC 7 hit piece in latest desperate attempt to discredit doubters of the official story - The BBC is set to launch a third savage smear attack on the 9/11 truth movement by rehashing a now thoroughly debunked program that it first aired in July of this year. Having taken its rightful place alongside Popular Mechanics and The History Channel as one of the 21st century’s most plentiful peddlers of yellow journalism with their first 9/11 hit piece last year, “Auntie Beeb” had another crack at the whip on July 6th when it aired a documentary about the collapse of WTC Building 7, the 47-storey skyscraper that imploded into its own footprint on 9/11 without being hit by a plane, called “The Third Tower”.

• WeAreChangeLA ‘debriefs’ former CIA Case Officer Robert Baer about apparent Mossad and White House 9/11 foreknowledge, and more - On October 16, 2008, Robert Baer, who was a CIA Case Officer in the Middle East over the course of almost two decades, participated in a discussion at the Hammer Museum entitled “A Third War: The Threat of War with Iran.” Dr. Trita Parsi was part of the discussion which was moderated by Ian Masters.

• Another sneering hit piece on 9/11 Truth from Mike Rudin & The BBC: Caught up in a conspiracy theory - I've just been sent a video on the net which accuses me of being "Eurotrash" and of producing a "hit piece" about 9/11. Almost inevitably I've been enmeshed in the ever growing net of the conspiracy theory. They've added my name to a long list of imagined conspirators - the secret services, police, people who worked in the building, first responders, the fire service, city officials...and also those who they think have deliberately set out to cover up this huge conspiracy - the official investigators, the world's media... Last month we were in New York to film the seventh anniversary of 9/11 at Ground Zero for a new programme about the allegation of a conspiracy to deliberately destroy the three skyscrapers at the World Trade Centre. "The Conspiracy Files: 9/11 - The Truth Behind The Third Tower" is to be broadcast at 9pm on BBC Two on Sunday 26th October 2008.

COMMENTARY: The last 9/11 related Conspiracy Files show that aired on the BBC a (few months ago) was hugely debunked, much of the material is available in our own archives - see the bottom of the page.  To those new to this subject or to those who consider themselves on the fence, please don't be 'suckered' in by the authoritative sounding tone of Rudin and the BBC.  The corporation is 'in deep' with the same corrupt system that carried out 9/11 and the subsequent whitewash.  Their lies have been so blatant and exposed many times over by this stage.  We have been threatened, cheated and attacked for challenging the official story... don't let them get away with this.  Investigate 9/11 and then wake up others.

• Former MI5 chief Stella Rimington claims 9/11 response was 'huge overreaction' - Former chief of MI5, Stella Rimington has claimed that the response to the September 11 2001 attacks was a "huge overreaction" and described the events as just "another terrorist incident". She said the attacks by al-Qaeda were "qualitatively different from any others" and criticised Home Secretary Jacqui Smith for making national security a partisan issue. In a wide-ranging interview, Rimington, who was the first-ever female, publicly named head of MI5 and retired 12 years ago, also said the war on terror in Iraq had influenced young British men to turn to terrorism. 'I suppose I'd lived with terrorist events for a good part of my working life and this was as far as I was concerned another one. 'It was huge, and horrible, and seemed worse because we all watched it unfold on television, So yes, 9/11 was bigger, but not qualitatively different', she told the Guardian newspaper. Attacking the home secretary, Dame Rimington said: 'National security has become much more of a political issue than it ever was in my day. 'Parties are tending to use it as a way of trying to get at the other side. You know, "We're more tough on terrorism than you are." I think that's a bad move, quite frankly.'

• Alleged - The Critical 9/11 Word - An article to raise awareness that the 9/11 hijackers are never referred to as alleged terrorists, whereas, they should be. If they were referred to as such, that would open up a wider range of possibilities for consideration when assessing the ramifications of that terrible event. Journalists, or people in general, bend over backwards to modify any reference to persons charged with a crime with the single word-alleged. Yet, in the case of persons who otherwise would have been alleged perpetrators in a crime, but because they are no longer alive and no case will go to trial, then no legal need exists to make sure to use that particular word. Then, it is so easy to either include or exclude this word depending on one's point of view on the bigger matter at hand.

• USA Knew About 9/11 Two Years Earlier! - With their huge intelligence network, the USA did not manage to stop the WTC attacks, even by overstepping all possible authorities. James Bamford reveals some shocking facts in his latest book “The Shadow Factory”, of which the most innocent allegations are those of wiretapping and violating the privacy of Americans. The claim that is stressed the most is that the secret services, first and foremost the “No Such Agency” (as the NSA is sometimes ironically called), knew about the perpetrators of the September 11 attacks two years before the attacks were carried out. Not only that, but that the attackers were in the “backyard” of the NSA and that is where they carried out their calls that were recorded and which were easily traced. In an interview published on Democracy Now!, Amy Goodman, a well known American investigative journalist, talked with James Bamford, the author of numerous books about the American secret services, which covered the activities of the NSA for the last three decades.

• 9/11 in 33 Minutes: Determining the Official Story Cannot Be True: 9/11 in 33 minutes: the best video summary of the 9/11 news stories that haven't been covered in the mainstream press - Seven years after 9/11, debate about who was involved in the attacks remains as contentious as ever. Despite Osama Bin Laden being popularly named as the prime suspect, the FBI to this day does not have him listed on their Most Wanted list for 9/11. By the FBI's own admission, there is "no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11". So who was responsible? We still don't know, but the evidence available does prove one thing: the official story cannot be true.

• FBI Prevents Agents from Telling ‘Truth’ About 9/11 on PBS - The FBI has blocked two of its veteran counterterrorism agents from going public with accusations that the CIA deliberately withheld crucial intelligence before the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. FBI Special Agents Mark Rossini and Douglas Miller have asked for permission to appear in an upcoming public television documentary, scheduled to air in January, on pre-9/11 rivalries between the CIA, FBI and National Security Agency.

• Critic says Bush post-9/11 spending strategy led to Wall Street crisis - After terrorists struck on 9/11, killing 3,000 people and shaking Americans to their core, President Bush launched a "war on terror" but told consumers to keep on spending. "Get down to Disney World in Florida," he said two weeks after the attack. "Take your families and enjoy life, the way we want it to be enjoyed." Now, a professor of history and international relations at Boston University is arguing that in encouraging spending instead of sacrifice as the nation went to war first in Afghanistan and later in Iraq, Bush fueled a binge of credit card spending.

• The Ultimate 9/11 'Truth' Showdown: David Ray Griffin vs. Matt Taibbi - A poll of 17 countries that came out September of this year revealed that majorities in only nine of them "believe that al Qaeda was behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States." A Zogby poll from 2006 found that in America, 42% of respondents believed the US government and 9/11 Commission "covered up" the events of 9/11. It's safe to say that at least tens of millions of Americans don't believe anything close to the official account offered by the 9/11 Commission, and that much of the outside world remains skeptical. Over the years, AlterNet has run dozens of stories, mostly critical, of the 9/11 Movement. Matt Taibbi has taken on the 9/11 Truth Movement head on in a series of articles, and most recently in his new book, The Great Derangement. • Dion sacks Winnipeg candidate over 9/11 beliefs - Liberal Leader Stephane Dion has asked Lesley Hughes, the party's candidate in the Winnipeg riding of Kildonan-St. Paul, to step down following controversial reports of Hughes's belief in conspiracy theories alleging the U.S. government was behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks and that Israeli businesses had advance warnings. While I appreciate her apology, I cannot condone those sentiments in any way," Dion said. "I have, therefore, asked Ms. Hughes to step down as the Liberal Party candidate in Kildonan-St. Paul." Dion originally defended his candidate, accusing NDP Leader Jack Layton of attracting Sept. 11 conspiracists.

• Internet attacks on 9/11 Truth intensify - Internet censorship is once again in the news after legendary YouTube user Nuffrespect posted a new video detailing the latest online attack on 9/11 Truth: a user who is creating clones of respected user accounts and truth movement leaders in order to smear 9/11 Truth by posting racist comments. These have already led to the deletion of several well-known accounts in what has been revealed as a coordinated effort to eliminate 9/11 Truth from YouTube. This is in addition to the news that YouTube deleted a number of videos and accounts last week at the behest of Senator Joe Lieberman. That CNET admits these videos were removed as a direct result of Lieberman’s staff’s request is significant, as it was Lieberman who has been urging YouTube to take down “radicalizing” terrorist propaganda since May of this year to bring it into compliance with H.R. 1955, a bill that is currently awaiting approval by the Senate and which would criminalize all dissent of the government. That H.R. 1955 will specifically target the 9/11 Truth community is made obvious by a presentation made to the House Homeland Security Subcommittee in 2007 on “Terrorism and the Internet” which actually listed 9/11 Truth sites alongside terrorist jihad sites as examples of terrorist propaganda on the internet.

• Key Witness to WTC 7 Explosions Dead at 53: Emergency coordinator and 9/11 witness Barry Jennings has passed away with controversy about WTC7 still hot– as the BBC hit piece and NIST report have been released to counter Jennings’ exclusive testimony of explosions inside Building 7 - NYC Housing Authority spokesman Howard Marder has now officially confirmed that Barry Jennings indeed passed away approximately a month ago after several days in the hospital, matching confirmations from several other employees at the Housing Authority. Marder commented that Jennings was a great man, well liked by everyone at the Housing Authority, and that he would be missed. No other details were available.

• McKinney compares 9/11 truthers with civil rights activists at benefit - Cynthia McKinney, Green Party Presidential candidate, talks at a benefit for 9/11 First Responders, comparing 9/11 truthers with 1960s-era civil rights activists– who would stand their ground to do the right thing in spite of fire hoses, police abuse, intimidation, and etc. A disproportionate number of First Responders are ill as a result of the toxic conditions at the 9/11 site. The Gov’t does not acknowledge the toxic conditions nor is it offering significant support to the First Responders or their survivors.

• Apocalypse Now?: New world order could have devastating implications for Western nations - Almost exactly seven years ago Al Qaeda terrorists targeted their hijacked planes into the Twin Towers at the heart of New York’s financial centre — and the world was transformed. There were no deaths this week, but the effects of the carnage on the financial markets will be far more profound and destabilising than the 9/11 atrocity. For almost all of us, it will, I predict, be a change for the worse, and for a large minority the consequences will be extremely distressing.

• Tony Blair takes the jokes as TV host Jon Stewart mocks his stance on Bush and the war in Iraq - In the face of a mocking host and a hostile studio audience, Tony Blair defended the war in Iraq and his friendship with President Bush on one of America’s top satirical TV shows. The former Prime Minister told Jon Stewart, of The Daily Show, that he had no second thoughts about the Iraq invasion, and that he liked Mr Bush as well as agreeing with him on world security threats.

• It's the creepy plotters who rule us we should really be scared of - There is no such organisation as ‘Al Qaeda’. The spooks know this, Cabinet Ministers know this and so do the ‘security correspondents’ who so readily trot out the spooks’ point of view on our broadcasting networks. Of course, there are terrorists, and there are also fantasists, fanatics, low-lifes and camp followers who plot and attempt horrible things. Some of them even call themselves ‘Al Qaeda’ these days because they have learned that this is a good way to scare us. But, while they are a menace, they are not as big or as organised a menace as the Government likes to make out.

• Russian Poll: 84% Say Truth About 9/11 Being Deliberately Hidden - A new poll from a major Russian news outlet reveals that 84% believe that the truth behind the 9/11 attacks is being deliberately hidden by the U.S. government. At time of writing, the poll on the Russia Today website indicates that only 16% of readers feel that the 9/11 Commission report represents the full extent of the evidence as to who carried out the attacks over seven years ago. The 84% figure mirrors almost exactly that of similar polls conducted in 2006 and 2004.

• “Unusual Magnetic Forces” Should Not Have Caused the Twin Towers to Collapse - First it was the “new phenomenon” of “thermal expansion”. Now, Sergei Dudarev, of the UK Atomic Energy Agency, says the Twin Towers collapsed due to “unusual magnetic forces“.

• On Morning Of 9/11 Attacks, McCain Immediately Began Making The Case For Iraq War - On the morning of the 9/11, just moments after the World Trade Center collapsed from the terrorist strikes, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) went on television and immediately began focusing the nation’s attention on Iraq. In an interview with CBS’ Dan Rather on 9/11, McCain said: To be honest with you, Dan, I never thought that an operation of this sophistication and size would take place. I just never did. But I don’t think there’s any doubt that there are countries — Iraq, Iran, Libya, North Korea and others — who we know engage in proliferation of — of capabilities and, from time to time, involve themselves in state-sponsored terrorism. But never did we imagine on a scale such as this. The next day, on 9/12, McCain reiterated the point in an interview with Chris Matthews. “It isn’t just Afghanistan,” he said, “we’re talking about Syria, Iraq, Iran, perhaps North Korea, Libya and others.”

• Global Poll: Less Than Half Believe Al-Qaeda Behind 9/11: Majority of people surveyed in 17 different countries have doubts about official story - A new global poll conducted across 17 countries has found that less than half of those surveyed believe Al-Qaeda was behind the 9/11 attacks, with a full 15 per cent believing that the terrorist outrage was directly perpetrated by the U.S. government. On the eve of the 7th anniversary of 9/11, the poll underscores how a majority of people still do not buy the official story, despite numerous attempts to reinforce the explanation that 19 hijackers at the behest of Osama bin Laden were the culprits behind the plot. “The survey of 16,063 people in 17 nations found majorities in only nine countries believe al Qaeda was behind the attacks on New York and Washington that killed about 3,000 people in 2001,” reports Reuters.

• French Comic Forced To Apologise For Citing 9/11 Theories - France’s favourite stand-up comedian has been forced to apologise for claiming that the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the US seven years ago tomorrow were an “enormous lie” orchestrated by the American government. The allegations by Jean-Marie Bigard have caused consternation in France because the comedian - who specialises in foul-mouthed, scatological and sexist humour - is a close friend of President Nicolas Sarkozy. On a radio show last Friday, the comedian interrupted a discussion on American politics, to say that it was “absolutely sure and certain” that the US government had stage-managed the 9/1l attacks in which 2, 896 people died.

• 9/11 Truth group is incorrectly portrayed : Bloomington 9/11 Working Group - Thanks for covering David Ray Griffin’s presentation on 9/11 at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater on Labor Day evening. Unfortunately, your article contained several serious misrepresentations. The worst is the statement that “Griffin contended that no difference exists between evil and patriotism as patriotism means working for one’s own country at the expense of others.” Griffin’s actual claim was that it’s possible to commit great evil while acting on patriotic motives. In particular, if those responsible for the events of 9/11 include persons within the U.S. government, they could well have been acting on patriotic motives. However, that would not justify their actions or make them good.

• Study shows how false memories rerun 7/7 film that never existed - Four out of 10 people have false memories of the 7/7 London bombings, according to researchers who questioned students about what they remembered seeing on news reports of the events. Some people claimed to have seen non-existent CCTV footage of the bus exploding in Tavistock Square in July 2005, while others gave detailed descriptions of footage which did not exist.

RELATED: This goes a long way to demonstrate the method of conditioning that causes many people deny the legitimacy of 9/11 truth.  Most people watching the mainstream news do so without discernment or retention of detail.  One friend of mine in particular has spent years in denial regarding 9/11 being an inside job... he 'knows for a fact' that Flight 77 hit the Pentagon, that fire brought down the Twin Towers and that those nineteen hijackers were the ones who did it.  Granted, he can't name even one of the alleged nineteen hijackers because he only retained an image that was projected to him by the mainstream media... but still he 'knows' that it unfolded just as we saw on TV.

• French President Nicolas Sarkozy friend says 9/11 was a lie - One of France's most successful stand-up comedians and a close friend of President Nicolas Sarkozy has sparked outrage by becoming the latest French star to question the official account of the September 11 attacks. In an embarrassment to the French President, and with just two days to go before the seventh anniversary of the deadly terrorist strikes, Jean-Marie Bigard - a member of Mr Sarkozy's inner circle of showbiz friends - said the official version was a "lie". "We are now absolutely certain that these two planes - the one that supposedly fell into a forest (flight 93 in Pennsylvania) and onto the Pentagon don't exist... those planes are still flying. "It's an enormous lie," he told Europe 1 radio. "It's an American missile that hit the Pentagon, they provoked it themselves, they killed fellow Americans. "Usually one learns of these things 30 years afterwards. We know it now," he went on. Mr Bigard, who has staged shows to a full house in Paris' football stadium, le Stade de France, added: "We are beginning to seriously consider that neither Ben Laden nor al Qaeda were responsible for September 11."

• Liquid Bomb “Terror Plot” Collapses In Court: None of suspects charged with headline-grabbing plan to blow up airlines, alleged ringleader completely acquitted - The much vaunted liquid bomb “terror plot” that provoked paranoid airport security measures, an overnight change in baggage procedures, and at one point led to mothers having to drink their own breast milk, completely collapsed yesterday in court after the alleged ringleader was completely acquitted and none of the other suspects were charged with conspiracy to blow up an airliner. “Seven men admitted plotting to cause a public nuisance. An eighth man was cleared at Woolwich Crown Court,” reports the BBC. “But after more than 50 hours of deliberations, the jury did not find any of the defendants guilty of conspiring to target aircraft.” “Mohammad Gulzar, 27, who Scotland Yard accused of being a ringleader in the plot, was cleared of all offenses,” adds the Register.

COMMENTARY: I went on air on 10th August 2006, the day that the media ran with the Liquid Bomber story to say that this story looked like a fake threat and was subsequently called a conspiracy theorist... what do these people have to say now? (Not much!).

• Liquids ban in luggage must remain in place, airlines told - The current tight security at British airports is unlikely to be relaxed in the wake of the Crown Prosecution Service's decision to push for a retrial of the men accused of plotting to bring down airliners. Restrictions on taking liquid through security were immediately introduced in the wake of the discovery of the alleged bomb plot in August 2006. Counter-terrorist officers believe it would have claimed thousands of lives and inflicted massive economic disruption on both Britain and the US.

• Study: Respiratory Problems Still Persist For 9/11 Workers - The city released its annual report today on the health of rescue workers at the World Trade Center site and nearby residents. For the past seven years since the September 11th terrorist attacks, the city has been monitoring the physical and mental health of recovery workers, first responders, and those living and working in Lower Manhattan. The World Trade Center Medical Working Group reviewed more than 100 scientific articles published since 2001 and found that people continue to suffer from a range of issues. The study's key findings include respiratory system have persisted for 25 percent of firefighters, two to four years after 9/11.

• Ventura Voices 9/11 Truth At Rally For The Republic: Former Governor hints at presidential run in 2012: “We can take our country back, it can be done” - During an impassioned speech in which he called for a revolution to take back the country, former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura voiced 9/11 truth to the 10,000 in attendance and the millions watching on C-Span and You Tube at the Rally For The Republic yesterday. • More Evidence Malkin Crew Set-up Alex Jones - Calling into his nationally syndicated radio show today from the DNC in Denver, Alex Jones provided more evidence that Michelle Malkin and her dirty tricks crew attempted to set-up him up. Alex revealed that he has video footage documenting the set-up and this will be made public upon his return from Denver. As we reported yesterday, several people associated with Malkin and apparently taking orders from her people attempted to claim Alex threatened the neocon blogger by chanting “Kill Malkin,” a lie parroted by neocon bloggers. As it turns out, two individuals not associated with Alex Jones, described as “frat boys,” were responsible for making the threatening comment and then attempted to claim Alex made the comment. Several videos of the confrontation provide conclusive evidence that Alex did not make the comment. Fox News commentator John Gibson tried to claim Alex had “mind controlled” the crowd into calling for the murder of Malkin.

• '9/11 Truth' activists march through Denver - Around 100 activists convinced that the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 were perpetrated by dark and mysterious actors within the US government marched across the city Tuesday in a sanctioned protest that resulted in no confrontations with police. Members of the so-called "9/11 Truth" movement gathered outside Denver's city hall proceeding to snake through cordoned off streets towards the Pepsi Center, where the Democratic National Convention is being held this week. Radio host Alex Jones, who runs the conspiracy theory Web site infowars.com and is a leader of the movement led demonstrators in chants of "9/11 was and inside job" and "Down with the New World Order."

• NIST Concludes “Fire” Caused WTC 7 “Collapse” when FEMA Report Concluded Fuel Tank Explosion had “low probability” of Knocking Down Tower - NIST has finally released their final report into the collapse of Building 7, which collapsed inexplicably on 9/11. The New York Times quoted Sunder who said, “[The] reason for the collapse of World Trade Center 7 is no longer a mystery… It did not collapse from explosives or fuel oil fires.” Earlier, Sunder was scratching his head, saying, “We’ve had trouble getting a handle on Building No. 7.” Similarly, the collapse baffled FEMA who lamely concluded, “The specifics of the fires in WTC 7 and how they caused the building to collapse remain unknown at this time. Although the total diesel fuel on the premises contained massive potential energy, the best hypothesis has only a low probability of occurrence.” In other words, despite the fact that FEMA claimed a diesel fuel explosion would have been improbable, NIST is now asserting that mere “fires” knocked down WTC 7? As NIST admits, this would be the “first known instance of fire causing the total collapse of a tall building.”

• Scientists and scientific explanations - In light of NIST’s WTC7 report, it would be good to have a look at DRG’s excellent debunking of the widely held misconception that a document by scientists makes it an ipso facto scientific document. From page 23 of “Debunking 911 Debunking:” Having looked at two ways in which people, as illustrated by journalists, can avoid confronting the evidence that 9/11 was an inside job, I now look at a third: the assumption that if an explanation is given by scientists, it is a scientific explanation.

• Bad Faith: WTC 7 and the Official Lies - With the release of the NIST final report on Building 7 we can safely say that the government remains committed to the ongoing cover-up, and that crucial evidence was simply ignored, fairy tales were manufactured, and that’s good enough for a lot of media. Perhaps a super-majority of media. As media, “the press,” will not perform its function as society’s government watchdog, and will not pursue the gaping holes in this wizard’s curtain, it’s basically left to us — you and me — to clear up this matter for our fellow citizens. We are at a serious disadvantage, and yet the task is not so daunting as rabid “debunkers” would have you believe. Let’s defer to one of their own, the former head of NIST’s Fire Science Division (the federal government organization which produced the sham report linked above).

• Two Powerful Forces Should Have Made WTC 7 Tip Over - World Trade Center building 7 was not a square or a rectangle, but a trapezoid.  As such, the larger side of the building would be heavier and more massive. NIST claims that column 79 collapsed, leading to the collapse of the whole building.

• NIST WTC 7 Report: Shameful, Embarrassing And Completely Flawed: NIST Claims “New Phenomenon” Occurred For First Time Ever In Collapse Of WTC 7. Yet fails to address why ground zero workers and media outlets had prior knowledge of an “extraordinary event” never before observed an hour in advance, plus myriad of other ignored issues - In its final report on the collapse of WTC 7 that news outlets are reporting “puts 9/11 conspiracy theories to bed,” NIST claims that the never before observed “new phenomenon” of “thermal expansion” was to blame for the destruction of the building, a completely ludicrous conclusion in a report that simply ignores eyewitness testimony and hard evidence that points to the deliberate demolition of the structure. NIST completely fails to address prior knowledge of the building’s collapse, including why news outlets like the BBC and CNN reported that the building had collapsed an hour before it actually fell, as well as firefighters on the scene who are heard on video saying, “Keep your eye on that building, it’ll be coming down soon.”

• Debunking NIST's Conclusions about WTC 7: Easy as Shooting Fish in a Barrel - Debunking NIST's conclusions about WTC 7 is as easy as shooting fish in a barrel. NIST lamely tried to explain the symmetrically collapse as follows: WTC 7’s collapse, viewed from the exterior (most videos were taken from the north), did appear to fall almost uniformly as a single unit. This occurred because the interior failures that took place did not cause the exterior framing to fail until the final stages of the building collapse. The interior floor framing and columns collapsed downward and pulled away from the exterior frame. There were clues that internal damage was taking place, prior to the downward movement of the exterior frame, such as when the east penthouse fell downward into the building and windows broke out on the north face at the ends of the building core. The symmetric appearance of the downward fall of the WTC 7 was primarily due to the greater stiffness and strength of its exterior frame relative to the interior framing. NIST can't have it both ways. If the exterior frame was so stiff and strong, then it should have stopped the collapse, or - at the very least - we would have seen a bowing effect where tremendous opposing forces were battling each other for dominance in determining the direction of the fall.

• As federal agency declares 'new phenomenon' downed WTC 7, activists cry foul - According to a federal agency report released Thursday, a "new phenomenon" known as thermal expansion was directly responsible for the mysterious collapse of World Trade Center 7 on Sept. 11, 2001. This study, posed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology -- a federal scientific agency which promotes technical industrial standards -- marks the first 'official' government theory on the collapse. The building's demise occurred some seven hours after the twin towers collapsed on Sept. 11, 2001, and has been the source of numerous conspiracy theories key to the "9/11 Truth" movement, most of which argue that the symmetrical, seven-second collapse was brought about by a controlled demolition. Dr. Shyam Sunder, director of Institute's building and fire research laboratory, oversaw the government's three-year research efforts. The report aims to disprove the controlled demolition argument. However, Richard Gage, founder of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth and a member of the American Institute of Architects, doesn't believe a word of the theory. His group, which has swelled to over 400 architectural and engineering professionals, immediately responded to the Institute's claim in a press conference.

• CNN: Conspiracy theorists 'not swayed' by WTC7 explanation - What really happened at 7 W.T.C. on Sept. 11, 2001? Government investigators say they know the truth. Fires, and not controlled demolition, caused the collapse of the tower, claims a new report from the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The institute, a federal scientific agency which promotes technical industrial standards, is the first government agency to present an all-encompassing theory of the building's demise. But that theory is being met with consternation among those who believe something more sinister was afoot on 9/11. "It has been a mystery since 9/11," said CNN's Deborah Feyerick in a Friday report. "Why did World Trade Center building seven collapse nearly seven hours after the twin towers fell? "Was it diesel fuel in the building? Or planted explosives, a controlled demolition of government offices as conspiracy theorists allege in films like Loose Change?" No, says Dr. Shyam Sunder, who directed NIST's team of researchers in the investigation. Fire triggered a "new phenomenon" -- thermal expansion of structural steel, which caused a cascade of collapsing floors, ultimately bringing the building down symmetrically, into its own footprint.

• 9/11 Tower 7 mystery 'solved' - THE mystery surrounding the collapse of a third World Trade Centre tower just hours after the September 11 attacks has been solved, according to scientists. The 47-storey Tower Seven building collapsed seven hours after the attack and has been the subject of conspiracy theories. On September 11, the structure was set ablaze by falling debris from the burning towers. But sceptics say that would not have caused the steel and concrete structure to collapse and have claimed that it was blown up intentionally. However scientists at the National Institute of Standards and Technology say they have got to the bottom of the mystery after a three year probe.

After all, why should we believe anything proclaimed by the governments of Washington and London which endorsed that mendacity?

• New video game ripped by kin of those who died at WTC - Artist Douglas Stanley uses World Trade Center in 30th anniversary version of famed Space Invaders game. It may be art, but loved ones of those killed in the attack on the World Trade Center think it's "disgusting." To celebrate the 30th anniversary of his Space Invaders video game, Paris-based artist Douglas Stanley has unveiled an installation in Germany depicting the twin towers under attack. "The World Trade Center attacks mark a deep cut in our recent history that is still being processed," said Stanley, attempting to explain his installation at the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany. In the large interactive installation, players must shoot invading space aliens out of the sky to keep them from destroying the towers. Stanley, a French-American, said the installation shows an "ambiguous juxtaposition of this mythical game and the historical events of Sept. 11."

• US accused of war crimes over torture methods - The use of torture by the US Government in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in New York on September 11, 2001 has come under increasing criticism. In 1863 at the height of the US civil war, president Abraham Lincoln set the principles for interrogation of prisoners with a famous instruction “military necessity does not admit of cruelty”. It took the September 11 attacks to change those principles and Vice-President Dick Cheney said the US would now have to work through the dark side. In response, government lawyers drew up the so-called torture memos that would ultimately unleash the abuses at Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib and at a host of secret CIA “black sites”. In his new book, lawyer Philippe Sands argues that the responsible officials, and the lawyers who advised them, should be charged with war crimes. Popular TV drama ‘24′ regularly show terror suspects being tortured so the hero can save the day but does this reflect a new tolerance of torture tactics in the United States?

• Parallels Between the Anthrax and 9/11 Investigations - There are numerous parallels between the anthrax and 9/11 investigations. This essay will touch on a couple of them.

• Bizarre Coincidence: Neo's Passport Expiry Date was 11th September 2001 - This is a weird one! I was recently sent an e-mail from a friend who pointed out that in the 1999 cult film The Matrix, we see a file folder about 17 minutes into the film which very briefly shows an image of (the Keanu Reeves character) Neo's passport. In the film, the image appears up-side down as we see above. Interestingly if we rotate the image the right way up we can see that the expiry date of the passport is... 11th September 2001.

• DVD PRE-ORDER: Fabled Enemies: A New Film By Loose Change Filmmaker Jason Bermas - 7 years after 911 the supposed mastermind behind the attacks is still at large, and the nation is entrenched in multiple Wars in the Middle East. Is Bin Laden the Evil behind the attack or a mere front man in a larger picture, a Bogeyman? We are told we are fighting a War on Terror, and that the Terrorists hate us for our freedom. If that is the case, why do our leaders take more and more of those freedoms away every day?

• Dan Rather announces Giuliani has "flight data recorder" from WTC: Another on-air oddity from Dan Rather - Observations: Rather's language suggests he has knowledge of a news clip in custody of CBS in which Giuliani "holds up" what he claims is a "flight data recorder" from the WTC wreckage - Rather introduces this clip, but immediately a BBC-style "technical problem" prevents its being aired - Giuliani would not make such an announcement to the national media casually--much less "hold up" the object in question--without confirmation that what had been found was indeed a "flight data recorder" and not the remains of some other electronic appliance from the debris. This episode supports claims by FDNY personnel and an NTSB "insider" that the WTC "black boxes" were in fact found, and suggests the actual moment the blackout curtain descends on this matter in the corporate media.

• Obama Fanatics Slam Author For Questioning 9/11: Establishment phonies, NY Times attempt to stoke feigned controversy over Corsi’s skepticism of official story, seemingly unaware that his doubts are shared by the majority of Americans - An army of frenzied Barack Obama acolytes have been busy attempting to smear writer Jerome Corsi, author of Obama Nation, by citing his skepticism towards the official 9/11 story, seemingly ignorant of the fact that such doubts are shared by the majority of Americans. The New York Times also got in on the act with a sneering attempt to validate the attack on Corsi, which is being supported by Obama’s own campaign staff. The coordinated smear attempt is obviously born out of the concern that Corsi’s 2004 book, Unfit for Command, basically sank John Kerry’s presidential bid because it was the inspiration behind the Swift Boat Veteran’s For Truth campaign.

• Bush faked letter linking Iraq with 9/11 that led US and Britain into war, Pulitzer prize-winner claims in explosive new book - American President George Bush was accused of committing an 'impeachable' offence by ordering the CIA to fake a letter linking Iraq to al Qaeda - the 'missing link' that led the US and Britain into war. The explosive charge that Bush committed 'one of the greatest lies in modern American political history' is made in a new book by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ron Suskind, released today. In the book, Suskind suggests that Bush's actions were worse than the Watergate scandal. In 'The Way of the World: A Story of Truth and Hope in an Age of Extremism', Suskind says he spoke on the record with U.S. intelligence officials who stated that Bush was informed unequivocally in January 2003 that Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction. Yet, he claims, Bush decided to invade Iraq three months later — with the forged letter from the head of Iraqi intelligence to Saddam clinching American reasons for going to war.

• McCain After 9/11: Wrong About Everything - This recently posted video of John McCain on the Letterman Show 18 October 2001, roughly a month after 9/11, suggests McCain knew about the Bush plan to take on Iraq. In addition to his cracks about killing Bin Laden by Halloween and intimidating "these people into going back to selling camels," he also floats the line that the anthrax used in the U.S. mail attacks "may have come from Iraq" and says the Bush administration was determined to hold the countries from which the terrorists came responsible. In retrospect, it's clear that McCain, our experience candidate, got pretty much everything wrong and was selling Bush's disastrous foreign policy, as he still is today.

• Ron Paul Fears Staged Iran Pretext Could Bring National Draft - Congressman Ron Paul fears that a staged incident exploited as a pretext to attack Iran may be the precursor to a national draft, as he responded to Sy Hersh’s astounding report that Dick Cheney proposed faking a Gulf of Tonkin style incident by killing Americans in the Straits of Hormuz and blaming it on Iran. “The influence is still there that they want it to happen, they probably themselves don’t have a day set to do it but they’re waiting for an opportunity and something will come along,” Paul told the Alex Jones Show. “They’re capable of doing anything,” said Paul, refering to the consideration unveiled in the Downing Street Memo, where Bush and Blair discussed painting a U2 spy plane in UN colors and goading Saddam to have it shot down as a pretext to invade Iraq.

• Law Professor: Counter Terrorism Czar Told Me There Is Going To Be An i-9/11 And An i-Patriot Act - Amazing revelations have emerged concerning already existing government plans to overhaul the way the internet functions in order to apply much greater restrictions and control over the web. Lawrence Lessig, a respected Law Professor from Stanford University told an audience at this years Fortune’s Brainstorm Tech conference in Half Moon Bay, California, that “There’s going to be an i-9/11 event” which will act as a catalyst for a radical reworking of the law pertaining to the internet.

• Utah Congressmen Mailed “9/11 Conspiracies”, Hand Them Over To Capitol Police - An otherwise uninteresting article in the Salt Lake Tribune, about Utah representatives receiving different kinds of mail, has thrown up some disturbing information regarding letters about 9/11 truth. Amongst the stories about Congressmen receiving letters from people who use “Star Trek” stationery, and from kids wanting homework outlawed, we find the following little tidbit: “Others have written in about 9/11 conspiracies, global takeovers or secret CIA mind-control techniques that “got so crazy we actually had to hand them over to Capitol Police,” he (Legislative assistant Omar Raschid) said.” Apparently not accepting the government’s version of events surrounding 9/11 may land you in trouble with the cops if you’re writing from Utah. Questioning the collapse of WTC 7 for example, an incident that was totally ignored by the 9/11 Commission Report, could get you reported.

• 7 Years After 9/11, First Responders Still Lack Medical Treatment - Medical and health and safety experts today urged Congress to approve new legislation to establish a permanent monitoring, research and health care program for the responders and people who lived and worked near Ground Zero who were exposed to the same mix of pulverized glass and concrete, asbestos, lead and burning jet fuel. Peg Seminario, AFL-CIO health and safety director, told the House Subcommittee on Health: The exposures were made much worse by EPA’s [Environmental Protection Agency’s] pronouncements that the environment was safe and OSHA’s [Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s] failure to enforce workplace safety and health requirements during the entire 10-month period of rescue, recovery and clean-up operations at the WTC [World Trade Center] site. As many as 100,000 responders—firefighters, paramedics, rescue and recovery workers—were exposed to the stew of chemicals and other toxic substances in the rubble of the World Trade Center following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

• Student charged after 9/11 stickers left on plane - A former Worcester man faces charges after he allegedly placed a sticker claiming Sept. 11 was an "inside job" in an airplane bathroom, then ran off the plane at Logan International Airport. Twenty-6-year-old Jason Robo was arraigned Thursday on charges of disorderly conduct and interfering with aircraft operation. A flight attendant on the Delta flight to Salt Lake City on Wednesday found homemade stickers that read "9/11 was an Inside Job! PrisonPlanet.com" on a bathroom sink and on the tray table for Robo's seat. The plane was evacuated, and takeoff was delayed for three hours.

• WeAreChange Robbed of 3 Cameras and Important Footage - On July 26, 2008 around 4am Eastern Time WeAreCHANGE members Sabrina Rivera and myself Luke Rudkowski noticed our cars front widow was knocked out. The only missing property inside the car was three WeAreCHANGE cameras with important video footage. It is important to note that I myself was receiving harassing phone calls for the past 24 hours prior to the robbery. The Robbery took place right after a public WeAreCHANGE meeting which Sabrina and myself attended. The following cameras have been taken. The cameras were located on the bottom floor of the back seat in a camera bag covered by a towel no way visible from outside. The windows in the car were tinted and no one from the outside was able to see anything resembling a camera or camera bag. • Batman's Take on 9/11 Era Politics? Drop the Fearmongering: "The Dark Knight" warns against what happens when a society abandons its principles out of fear - "One of the "biggest" ideas of the year, according to James Fallows writing in the Atlantic Magazine, is the End of 9/11 as a metanarrative for American politics. For a growing domestic and international constituency, it is no longer tolerable for the very invocation of those events to warrant overriding every principle of American democracy. That moment of thoughtless panic has passed, and appears now to have been a dream of madness. Casting aside principles in the name of the "war on terror" -- to "work ... the dark side, if you will", as Dick Cheney put it -- is now being recognized as the path to becoming the very evil we feared." One of the most potent confirmations of this maturing zeitgeist is the overwhelmingly positive critical and public reception of Christopher Nolan's stunning new Batman film The Dark Knight, which, in its careful use of 9/11 visual tropes takes the viewer on a sometimes traumatic but ultimately redemptive and humanistic journey towards a truly post-9/11 ethic.

• Did anyone read Joker his Miranda rights? - If you're one of the 22 million or so people who saw "The Dark Knight" this weekend, you probably noticed that the movie had some Serious Themes alongside the bombs, slick stunts, and brilliant performances. (And if you haven't read seen it yet, don't read on, and consider this your spoiler alert.) Sure, "Iron Man" had brown guys being blown up to a hard rock soundtrack, and American arms killing Americans. And at least the editorial board thought "The Hulk" could be considered an allegory for the war on drugs. But Christopher Nolan's latest addition to the Batman canon is the most explicit and thought-provoking with its post-9/11-ness, starting with bursting skyscrapers in its first few minutes and at various points taking up torture (I think the sound of ringing steel is still in my head from Batman's slamming Joker's head onto a table), surveillance (complete with heavy-handed speechifying on privacy by Lucius Fox) and even directly calling the Joker a terrorist a handful of times.

• Another 9/11 Apologist Exposed: Thanks to 9/11 Blogger and AJFan, I just listened to one of the most amazing pieces of abject fabrication I have heard on any radio station; and that includes Bill O’s show - “Professor Muller (at about 7:30) is led by Boston Public Radio host Tom Ashbrook to the subject of what future presidents should know about the physics of terrorism; specifically, how did those buildings come down?” Professor Muller is currently with the University of California, Berkley and also a member of the JASON Defense Advisory Group which brings together top scientists as consultants for the United States Department of Defense. So he shouldn’t be too biased, eh? He writes a monthly column for MIT’s magazine and by all accounts, he is a very smart man (you can tell by how he holds his glasses there). So, let’s see what he says in the interview about the physics of 9/11, shall we?

• 9/11 billboard used to sell Republican song: US citizens outraged at Mike Meehan's Republican Song adverts - especially as the song sucks - Residents of Orlando, Florida were outraged and baffled last week by billboards showing the burning twin towers alongside the message "Please Don't Vote For A Democrat". As a nationwide kerfuffle ensued, local Republicans hastily distanced themselves from the billboards. But it turned out that the posters' message — while heartfelt — is actually the title of a song, available for download (for $5) from a website also mentioned on the billboard.

• 9/11 Search Dog From Utah Dying Of Cancer - Kenji is one of four Utah search dogs who were called to work at ground zero. A 9/11 hero is fighting cancer that may be the result of his work at ground zero. He is the last of four Utah dogs, who went to New York and searched for survivors in smoking debris after the terrorist attacks. Fields Moseley has his story. At eleven years old, Kenji still likes to go for a walk through Dimple Dell Park. Despite having rebuilt knees and some gray fur, he still has plenty of energy for a game of hide-and-seek. Finding people is what Kenji was trained to do. It is what his owner and partner Dave Perks says he's always been good at it. “We’ve been proud of Kenji. He's been a really fine search dog. Learns quick and doesn't forget,” said Perks. That's why this well-trained lab was one of four dogs who got the call when terror struck. “We belong to Utah Task Force One,” Perks said. When the World Trade Center towers were brought down by terrorists in 2001, this elite group searched the debris for survivors.

• 2008 Bohemian Grove Guest List Obtained By 9/11 Truth Activists: Guests included George H. W. Bush, David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger - An official guest list for Bohemian Grove's 2008 midsummer encampment along with a map of the Grove's facilities has been obtained by a San Francisco based action group who held protests and information drives outside the entrance to the elite summer retreat. The list reveals that amongst the hundreds of corporate representatives, government officials and banking elites, guests also included former president George H.W. Bush, David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell, as well as several former directors of the CIA, including James Woolsey.

The perpetrator, a mysterious self-styled “agent of chaos”, has no apparent motive. Holy terror! Has the new Batman flick plundered its plot from 9/11? The imagery here is blatant: firefighters framed in tableau against the smouldering rubble of Downtown; politicians cashing in on the paranoia; bound hostages used to relay demands on television; the extraordinary rendition of a foreign suspect; a crusade against an “evildoer” that turns more personal vendetta than reasoned response.

• More than a movement -- the search for 9/11 truth is an awakening - A year ago, I announced in this forum the launching of my survey for a book that would compile personal accounts of ordinary people active in the 9/11 truth movement. Since then, I’ve been gathering dozens of revealing, often moving stories from inside and outside the U.S., and I’ve begun to put a shape to Voices for 9/11 Truth. Along the way, I’ve come to believe that what we call the 9/11 truth movement is not really a movement per se. • Actress Heather Thomas Latest Celebrity to Question 9/11 - American actress Heather Thomas, known for her role as Jody Banks in the 1981 television series The Fall Guy with Lee Majors, has told Retroality TV that she does not believe flight 77 hit the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. “They said it vaporized, and yet they produced bodies saying that they didn’t vaporize. You can vaporize a two-ton engine? I don’t think so…. No plane does damage like that. It was a bomb.” Heather Thomas: “A lot of people say they closed the Twin Towers for weekends on end (directly before 9/11) and wouldn’t let the security people in there (because they were setting it up for demolition)." • 9/11 relative fights NYC co-op board over flag - A relative of a 9/11 victim is fighting his Brooklyn co-op board, which wants to remove an American flag from his door. Vincent Romano, who's a lawyer, says he put the flag outside his door after his wife's cousin died at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. He says the co-op board has ordered him to remove the flag by Tuesday. Romano says residents were told to keep items off their doors to avoid damaging new paint. But he says the paint job is not relevant in his case because the flag is held up by magnets.

• Ashcroft Defends DOJ's Post-9/11 Policies: Former AG: Overruling Controversial Legal Guidance Was 'Not a Hard Decision' - Former Attorney General John Ashcroft told lawmakers Thursday that he fully embraced pushing forward an aggressive counterterrorism policy during his tenure, but that overturning some initial Justice Department legal guidance was necessary after later review. "The administration's overriding goal, which I fully embraced, was to do everything within its power and within the limits of the law — I repeat within the limits of the law — to keep this country safe from terrorist attack," he told the House Judiciary Committee. Ashcroft said that's why he initially approved now-controversial legal guidance on interrogation put forth by former DOJ Office of Legal Counsel official John Yoo in an August 2002 memo.

• Water boarding proved “very valuable” in Guantanamo - Former Attorney General John Ashcroft spoke at the fifth part of a hearing entitled “From the Department of Justice to Guantanamo Bay: Administration Lawyers and Administration Interrogation Rules.” Ashcroft defended the Department of Justice’s action in Guantanamo Bay, saying that they worked within the framework of the law and never supported torture. Ashcroft said that after 9/11, the Bush Administration’s overriding goal was to do everything within its power and within the limits of the law, to keep this country and the American people safe from terrorist attacks. He spoke about the Administration’s efforts to work within the law and follow Supreme Court rulings about torture and interrogations in Guantanamo, and that water boarding was never ruled as torture and has “proved very valuable.”

• Registration Extended for 911 Workers and Volunteers to Preserve Right to File Workers' Compensation - Nearly seven years have passed since the twin towers of the World Trade Center collapsed following a terrorist attack into “Ground Zero” devastation. Those who have assisted in the recovery, cleanup and rescue efforts of the World Trade Center destruction, have an extended deadline of August 13, 2008 to register with the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board. The law has been changed to allow the filing of a workers’ compensation claim for those that have a 9/11 related illness. The change also applies to those volunteers and workers who are not sick now, but who may become sick in the future because they were exposed to toxic air following 9/11.

Mike Meehan doesn't apologize for the in-your-face gripping image that burned itself into the collective memory of Americans who recall the events of Sept. 11, 2001. The billboards went up Sunday, he said, and have already sparked controversy.

• WTC 7 Emergency Head Was Building Collapse Specialist - The former New York City chief emergency manager Jerome Hauer, whose office was on the 23d floor of WTC 7, was also a building collapse specialist, according to a recently uncovered New York Times article. Hauer has attracted suspicion from the 9/11 truth movement because of his zeal to push the official story in the hours after the attack when details were still sketchy. Hauer was also Managing Director of Kroll Associates - the company that provided security for the WTC complex on 9/11 - and he also betrayed advance knowledge of the anthrax attacks a week before they happened.

• Doctor is last 9/11 death - A woman doctor last seen near the Twin Towers a day before the 9/11 attacks in 2001 has finally been classified as a victim. The body of Sneha Philip, 31, was never found and no clear evidence links her to Ground Zero in New York. But a state court has now toppled an earlier ruling that she was not a victim of the terror strikes. It is thought she may have died trying to help others. Her mother Ansu, 61, said: "Having to go through this process was terrible." The 9/11 toll is now 2,751.

• McCain asked about PNAC and 9/11 at town hall - During a town hall event in Portsmouth, OH on Wednesday, John McCain was asked by a member of the audience whether his links to the parent organization of the Project for a New American Century explain why he has been reluctant to support calls for a new investigation of 9/11. The questioner began, "I was curious about a document. Back in September of 2000, the Project for a New American Century, or PNAC, whose members included Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Jeb Bush and Paul Wolfowitz, wrote a document entitled 'Rebuilding Americans Defenses.'" As McCain turned and paced away from him, the questioner continued, "In it, they state, quote, "The process of transformation, even if it bring revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event like a new Pearl Harbor."

• BBC's Third Tower: 30 Pieces of Good News: by Dr. Kevin Barrett and Rolf Lindgren - The one-hour BBC program The Third Tower should have a positive effect on spreading the truth about what happened to WTC 7. Despite its attempt to debunk by twisting and omitting facts, there is much to cheer about.

• Washington can't live up to standards of 9/11 'truthers' - The late U.S. president Ronald Reagan once remarked that "facts are stupid things." While Reagan's comment was an inadvertent slip of the tongue, too many people remain willing to unblushingly assert their belief in this sort of thinking. Rather like corpse gas, a fresh batch of skewed thinking has lately bubbled up from the depths due to the imminent release of a draft report from the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology on the collapse of 7 World Trade Center during the 9/11 attacks. WTC 7 was not hit by planes, but rather collapsed at 5:20 in the afternoon on the same day after being hit by debris from the fall of the North Tower. Its destruction was not mentioned in the 9/11 Commission Report on the attacks.

At a time when the 9/11 truth movement is both at its most visible and under the most prolonged attack by debunkers, the movie serves as a reminder of what is at the heart of this grass-roots phenomenon - a yearning for justice both for the victims of 9/11 and those people who are still paying the price - the brave rescue heroes and firefighters who are living and dying with debilitating illnesses - having been abandoned by their government many years ago.

• BBC CONSPIRACY FILES: The Third Tower: A Critical Examination - On July 6, 2008, BBC released a documentary examining the collapse of World Trade Center 7, on September 11, 2001. The film purported to "solve the final mystery" of 9/11 in regards to whether the collapse of the building was due to fire or controlled demolition. The film used interviews of people from both sides of the argument, as well as stock footage and reconstructions to show the viewer the cases to be made for each theory. This is the second film the BBC has created on the subject of alternative theories of 9/11. The film is highly charged and controversial, with emotions running deep. In this review I will attempt to remove the emotional side of the film and simply look at the facts and opinions offered, their validity, and the BBC's attempt to make a "balanced" film.

• BBC Hit Piece Edits Silverstein Comment In Dirty Tricks Scam - The BBC’s embarrassing attempt to dig itself out of a hole that keeps getting deeper was again exemplified during their latest yellow journalism hit piece on 9/11 truth, in which they played Larry Silverstein’s “pull it” comment but edited out the most important part of the statement, and in doing so changed its context altogether. An army of informed truth activists are almost tripping over each other to point out the gargantuan number of errors, ad hominem smear tactics, bias and shoddy investigative techniques displayed in the program which aired Sunday in the UK. Just one such example concerns WTC complex leaseholder Larry Silverstein’s infamous “pull it” comment which can be viewed in its entirety below with other clips included for context in confirming that the term “pull it” is industry jargon for deliberately demolishing a building.

• Movies I Made To Counter The BBC’s Argument That “The Final Mystery Of 9/11" Has Been Solved - Recently, I’ve been a little busy making movies. The reason I got started making these movies was to counter the BBC’s claim that the “final mystery of 9/11″ has been solved. They said it two times as far as I know.

I would like to lodge a complaint against Mike Rudin and the BBC for the deeply insulting programme 'The Third Tower' (part of the Conspiracy Files series).

We pay our TV licensing fees to the government whom then pay yourselves - and this is this what we get in return?

This was by no means a fair and balanced piece, in fact it was an all out hit-piece on those who question/doubt the official story of 9/11, engaging in the usual 'Yellow Journalism' that the BBC has long been well known for.

Once again the BBC took the part of government apologist, whilst claiming to be unbiased (give me a break!) and did a poor, false and misleading job of answering the questions that we - the 9/11 truth movement have spent the last seven years asking.

• Judge dismisses case over 9/11 remains - A U.S. judge on Monday dismissed a case brought by families of victims of the Sept. 11 attacks who said the city denied proper burials by sending debris containing possible human remains to a garbage dump. The lawsuit, filed in 2005 by a group called WTC Families for a Proper Burial, sought to have the estimated 1.2 million to 1.8 million tons of rubble originally from the World Trade Center site transferred out of the Fresh Kills landfill located on New York's borough of Staten Island. The families said the city should move the residue that had been finely sifted multiple times to a more suitable location and have a cemetery created.

• BBC directors' pay hikes defended - The BBC's Director-General defended the decision to award pay rises to the corporation's executive directors despite a year of job cuts and phone-in scandals. Mark Thompson waived his own right to a bonus because of the "scale of disruption and uncertainty" facing BBC colleagues. But nine executive directors did receive bonuses in 2007/08, according to this year's annual report. BBC Vision director Jana Bennett took a total rise of more than £100,000 including her bonus and other benefits, but Mr Thompson said her bonus had been cut because of the fakery scandals involving some BBC TV shows.   (COMMENTARY: Fakery at the BBC?... c'mon get serious!)

• Glaring and damning errors already apparent in new BBC WTC 7 hit piece - I just read the article Evolution of a Conspiracy Theory written by the producer of the new wtc hitpiece Mike Rudin. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/conspiracy_files/7434230.stm) It is full of errors, non-sequiturs and false claims. A couple struck me as so blatant I feel embarrassed to be British.

• The Weekend's TV: The Conspiracy Files: 9/11 – The Third Tower, Sun, BBC2: Yet more tall stories with no foundation - Imagine an infection that actually feeds on the only antibiotic available to counter it and you have some measure of the problem in dealing with conspiracy theories. When conspiracists encounter solid evidence against their favoured scenario, they have only two options available to them. They can compromise their religious belief in the narrative they've constructed, or they can simply enlarge it, extending the conspiracy so that, amoeba-like, it absorbs this irritating foreign body and digests it whole. Almost invariably, they choose the latter, and The Conspiracy Files: 9/11 – the Third Tower, a film about the collapse of World Trade Centre Building 7, offered several choice examples of the process.   

(COMMENTARY: Another establishment hit piece which uses the term 'conspiracy' as a one-sided buzz-word, ignoring that those who embrace the official story (or 'fable' would be more appropriate) are themselves embracing a theory of a 'conspiracy'.  This is very note worthy and important because it shows the willful ignorance consistent in those who attack both 9/11 Truth and those who seek it).

• UPDATE ON THE BBC 911 TRUTH HIT PIECE: We just viewed the BBC documentary live about an hour ago... and we hate to say that we were indeed correct in our pre-air analysis (the next item down the page).  Producer Mike Rudin missed out so much of key information and hand-picked anything that he felt debunks the popular 9/11 'conspiracy theories'.  The problem is though, we (as 9/11 Truthers) are the ones debunking them (i.e. those who embrace the official fable).  All it takes is a single piece of the official story to be proven as false for the entire 'official conspiracy theory' to collapse.  And to be fair and honest, we don't have a specific theory of what happened on 9/11.  Our message to the world is essentially '9/11 is a lie... take time to look at it... now go and ask questions'.  

Going back to the broadcast tonight, one example of the deception is that they didn't explain why the BBC/CNN footage of themselves announcing the collapse of WTC7 (prior to the actual collapse) is important.  We broke this back in February 2007 as a major story, precisely because it shows that the mainstream news will make an announcement that is false and not investigate it.  It shows that they are basically parrots of the official story (i.e. because they can announce that a building has fallen when it is still standing in the bloody background!) and therefore they are little more than a willfully ignorant mouthpiece for the very criminal government that (the evidence shows) orchestrated the attacks.  Disagree with us?  Well, tonight's shameful Conspiracy Files broadcast only adds to that notion...

• TONIGHT THE BBC ENGAGES IN AN ALL OUT ASSAULT ON 9/11 TRUTH: Don't forget that tonight the BBC will be lunching a new attack on 9/11 Truth in their second 'Conspiracy Files' documentary due to air at 21:00 on BBC2.  In addition to the usual 'Yellow Journalism' that we see from the BBC, we anticipate that in this program the viewer will be exposed to: -

• the frequent and improper one-sided use of the word 'conspiracy' (usually followed by the word 'theory' or 'theorist').  Now... bearing in mind that a 'conspiracy' is defined as "a planning and acting together secretly, esp. for an unlawful or harmful purpose, such as murder or treason", defenders of government corruption and the official story often forget that they are themselves defending a conspiracy theory - one which involves 19 Arab hijackers whom couldn't even fly Cessna's.  Instead they play the 'conspiracy' card as a topical buzz-word, taking it out of context and therefore tilting much public opinion into their corner. Sadly this works because we are otherwise conditioned (particularly in the UK and USA) to associate 'conspiracy theories' as alternative, far fetched, bizarre and therefore foolish.

• only being show evidence that supports the official conspiracy theory and not be shown anything that destroys it.  Destructive evidence such as we see here (and in our previous headlines further down the page) in relation to the availability of water to put out the fires in WTC7.  This is a specific issue we expect to see distorted and taken out of context in tonight's broadcast.

• the BBC deceptively placing themselves in the camp of the survivors and the families of 9/11 along with the defenders of the official conspiracy theory... thereby pitching us (the debunkers of the official conspiracy theory) as the perceived 'bad guy's'.

• the program to insinuate that by doubting the official conspiracy theory we are disrespecting those who died in the attacks and causing severe distress to the survivors.  To buy into this paradigm is to forget that many of the families and survivors have been at the forefront of the 9/11 truth movement.  People such as William Rodriguez, the Jersey Girls and Bill Doyle, representative of one of the largest victim groups.  See our Prominent Figures Speak Out section for a list containing many many more examples.

• the use of lawyer-like distortion of the facts and carefully crafted sophistry.  We do know that they are specifically doing this to explain away the Jane Standley footage bombshell.  As we commented a few days ago, the use of the technique called 'Sophistry' is to make a defense which relies on confusing your critics.  Hypothetically, imagine I murdered someone by stabbing a them to death.  I could use sophistry and defend myself by saying "Okay I did stab this person, but it wasn't me that killed them... they bled to death".  The fact that they bled to death is probably accurate, but my statement is a lie by omission because it ignores the fact that I caused that very outcome.

• an uneven balance of 9/11 Truthers versus those who embrace the official conspiracy theory.  We saw this in the previous The Conspiracy Files program where only three 9/11 Truthers were interviewed, yet roughly a dozen individuals were featured in opposition.

• No BBC, WTC 7 Did Not Collapse “Due To Fire” & The Final 9/11 Mystery Is Not Solved - “The building collapsed due to fire”- I’m still waiting to see a shred of evidence to support this theory. Just “saying” that the building collapsed due to fire is not evidence or proof that it collapsed due to fire. You can bet that NIST won’t bother to explain this away: When the hit piece comes out, this is a critical piece of evidence that NIST (I am assuming) will ignore in their report: “Although virtually all of the structural steel from the Twin Towers and Building 7 was removed and destroyed, preventing forensic analysis, FEMA’s volunteer investigators did manage to perform “limited metallurgical examination” of some of the steel before it was recycled. Their observations, including numerous micrographs, are recorded in Appendix C of the WTC Building Performance Study. Prior to the release of FEMA’s report, a fire protection engineer and two science professors published a brief report in JOM disclosing some of this evidence."

• “Shockingly Calm”: The Phone Calls From the Planes on 9/11 - A number of people received phone calls the morning of September 11, 2001 that they believed were made by individuals on board the planes that crashed in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania. Descriptions of these calls, however, reveal something odd. According to the official story we have been told, the callers were in an unprecedented crisis, stuck on planes under the control of murderous terrorists, and with no knowledge of whether they were going to be allowed to live or die. Yet in many of the phone calls, the caller appears to have been remarkably calm. Perhaps if just a few of them–for example, those with specific personal experiences, like the flight attendant who was a former police officer–had maintained their composure, then this would be less remarkable. Yet the large majority of the callers displayed this same calmness. In their recollections, some of the people who received the calls have indeed commented on this fact, apparently surprised by it. Some of them have also commented on the absence of panic, screaming, or other sounds of chaos in the background.

• 9/11 third tower mystery 'solved': By Mike Rudin: BBC, Conspiracy Files - The final mystery of 9/11 will soon be solved, according to US experts investigating the collapse of the third tower at the World Trade Center. The 47-storey third tower, known as Tower Seven, collapsed seven hours after the twin towers. Investigators are expected to say ordinary fires on several different floors caused the collapse. Conspiracy theorists have argued that the third tower was brought down in a controlled demolition. Unlike the twin towers, Tower Seven was not hit by a plane. The National Institute of Standards and Technology, based near Washington DC, is expected to conclude in its long-awaited report this month that ordinary fires caused the building to collapse. That would make it the first and only steel skyscraper in the world to collapse because of fire.

COMMENTARY: As George Orwell put it back in 1944: "... the words 'I heard it on the BBC' had a new meaning - 'I know it must be true'".

As we have stated previously regarding the upcoming Mike Rudin BBC2 hit piece (due to air Sunday 06th July), we fully expect this to be full of manipulative spin, hyperbole, political rhetoric, and lies - either bold faced, or by omission.

As one other person has humorously commented, the BBC might as well say that WTC7 was hit by a plane!

Although on the surface the BBC may seem to be at times 'rebellious' and critical of certain issues such as the War on Terror, in reality this Corporation is actually deeply involved in whitewashing the real truth behind such things.  

Tomorrows 'Conspiracy Files' hit piece will be one such example.

It mentions that NIST says "fire fighters could not fight the fires in Tower 7, because they didn't have enough water and focused on saving lives." However, NIST's claim is incorrect. There were in fact fireboats that had been moored near the WTC the morning of 9/11, to provide water to the site. See:

• BBC BLOG: Controversy and conspiracies III: From Mike Rudin, producer of The Conspiracy Files series - After the huge response to Richard Porter's blogs last year about 9/11 Part of the conspiracy? I was very keen to get to the bottom of what exactly happened. For the latest Conspiracy Files programme, on 9/11 - The Third Tower (Sunday 6 July at 2100 BST on BBC Two), I've been looking in detail at allegations that there was a conspiracy to deliberately demolish a third tower at the World Trade Center. This third skyscraper was never hit by an aeroplane. There is little photographic evidence of extensive damage. Yet seven hours after the Twin Towers collapsed, this 47-storey building collapsed in a few seconds.   (COMMENTARY: Another unimpressive blog from a BBC editor where the writer answers the questions... by not really answering them at all.  Take for example the issue of the BBC's accidental reportage of the collapse of WTC7 twenty-three minutes before the ACTUAL collapse.  Ever since this footage surfaced in early 2007, the point has been that WTC7 did not simply collapse as an accident, it was planned, a collapse zone was declared, bombs were heard being detonated and a countdown to the collapse given.  This is DOCUMENTED.  And the fact that the BBC and other news services reported the collapse too early only adds to the vast amount of prior knowledge to an event that the BBC would otherwise rather you believe was an 'accidental' collapse due to fire.  However Mike Rudin sidesteps this whole devastating issue (and presumably will also do so in the upcoming BBC2 documentary) stating that Reuters got the story that WTC7 had collapsed based on an amazing assumption that it was going to collapse and so the BBC repeated this press release... very circular logic!  That would be like me saying 'Okay, I did stab this person, but it wasn't me that killed them... they bled to death'.  This technique is known as Sophistry... • 9/11 hero dog 'to be cloned' - Trakr, a dog that sniffed out survivors from under the rubble of the World Trade Centre after the September 11 terror attacks, may be cloned. The German shepherd, who lives with his owner, James Symington, in Los Angeles, was picked by BioArts International, a Californian cloning firm, as the most "clone-worthy" canine in a competition offering an owner a free chance to replicate their pet. Mr Symington said he and Trakr were among the first search and rescue teams to arrive at the New York site after the attacks, and were responsible for locating the last human survivor under about 30 feet of debris. Now aged 15, the dog no longer has use of his back legs due to a degenerative neurological disorder.  According to BioArts, experts believe the condition may be linked to exposure to toxic smoke at the World Trade Centre site. However, some specially-bred species of dogs suffer similar degenerative conditions.

• Reagan files copyright claim in attempt to get Mark Dice death threat removed: Talk show host Michael Reagan files copyright infringement claim to prevent audio clip of him calling for the murder of anti-war activist from circulating the Internet - Last week, radio talk show host Michael Reagan called for his listeners to track down and murder anti-war activist, Mark Dice. After Dice downloaded the show's free podcast and posted the 3 minute and 21 second clip on YouTube, Reagan filed a copyright infringement claim to remove the clip in an attempt to prevent it from circulating.

• Clearchannel Host Frustrated at Growing 9/11 Truth Movement - "Is everybody now into black helicopters and conspiracy theories? Is the entire country now simply, it's a conspiracy theory?" Bill asks in frustration. Yes Bill, and it's only growing. We will never stop. The new world order will be defeated.

• Many more terrorism victims in UK before 9/11 - In a written parliamentary reply published Wednesday, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith listed a total of 1,973 deaths in the UK due to terrorist activity since 1978, including more than 1,500 in Northern Ireland alone. The UK suffered from many more victims of terrorism before the 9/11 attacks in the US in 2001, according to official figures.

• Former Senator Gravel Backs NYC 9/11 Commission - After two presidential runs in one year, former Senator Mike Gravel is setting his sites on New York City politics, specifically a grassroots effort to have New York City citizens vote to establish a new September 11th investigation commission. The petition drive needs at least 30,000 residents to give their signatures in order to place a potential amendment to the city charter on the November ballot. The former Alaska senator and lifelong political loose cannon threw his weight behind the effort to establish a second, privately funded investigation into the events of September 11th, in response to what he called a fatally flawed 9/11 Commission report. “Even the commissioners and their panderers admit it had shortcomings” Gravel said. “This commission will be made up of people with only one stake: finding the truth.”

• Lawmaker takes 9/11 doubts global - In a September 2003 article for The Guardian newspaper, Michael Meacher, who served as Tony Blair's environment minister from May 1997 to June 2003, shocked the establishment by calling the global war on terrorism "bogus." Even more controversially, he implied that the U.S. government either allowed 9/11 to happen, or played some role in the destruction wrought that day. Besides Meacher, few politicians have publicly questioned America's official 9/11 narrative — until Diet member Yukihisa Fujita. In January 2008 Fujita, a member of the Democratic Party of Japan, asked the Japanese Parliament and Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda to explain gaping holes in the official 9/11 story that various groups — including those who call themselves the "911 Truth Movement" — claim to have exposed. Fujita, along with a growing number of individuals — including European and American politicians — are leading a charge to conduct a thorough, independent investigation of what happened on Sept. 11, 2001.

• Talk show host Michael Reagan calls for murder of 9/11 Truth & anti-war activist - Radio talk show host Michael Reagan is calling for the murder of political activist, Mark Dice, after hearing that Dice is mailing letters and DVDs to troops in Iraq. Reagan wants to pay for the bullets.

• 9/11 Conspiracy Song Borrows Bee Gees' 'Stayin' Alive' - A YouTube-based political cover/parody act calling itself The Free Bees rewrote the lyrics of the 1970s disco anthem and Saturday Night Fever theme "Stayin' Alive" to promote the theory that the tragedy of 9/11 was a home-grown conspiracy. The song and video (embedded), called "9/11's a Lie," kicks off with the lyrics, "Well you can tell by the way the buildings fell / There was something wrong, Now it's time to tell." The refrain includes: "Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother, 9/11's a lie, 9/11's a lie / Neo-cons are shaking, the world has started waking / 9/11's a lie, 9/11's a lie." There's no official statement yet on how the surviving members of the Bee Gees feel about having their iconic hit rewritten.

• 9/11; Response to a Financial Times Report regarding 9/11: "fails to deal with the evidence" - An Evidence-Based Response to Peter Barber regarding his article, "The Truth is Out There", Financial Times, June 7, 2008. Dear Mr. Barber: I am a professional medical librarian who delivered "best evidence" literature to the public health officers of the British Columbia government for 25 years. Your article, "The Truth is Out There", is an "ad hominem" approach to a critically serious matter, and it unfortunately fails to deal with the evidence involved.

More than 40 years later, before the packed pews of the Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles, McKinney is speaking of the American government’s war on its own people. The shock and awe phase of this conflict, we had been told earlier, began on September 11 2001, when the Bush administration launched attacks on New York and Washington, or at least waved them through.

• The Three Amigos on 9/11 - The Corbett Report has just released the final installment in a three-part YouTube documentary series seeking to highlight some of the bizarre facts surrounding the movements and whereabouts of President Bush, Vice President Cheney and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld on the day of 9/11. • Largest Swiss Newspaper Asks if Bush Was Behind 9/11 - 2,973 humans died with the attacks of 9/11. "Bin Laden" and "Al Qaeda," the Bush clan cried. The world believed them. In the meantime even scientists doubt the Bush version. Now, Swiss university professors Albert A. Stahel and Daniele Ganser raise new questions. "Something is not correct," says strategy expert Stahel in "World Week", and here he refers to the "incomplete" official US Government 9/11 Report of 2004.  

• Corr brother says 9/11 'an inside job' - CORRS guitarist Jim Corr has claimed that there was overwhelming evidence that the 9/11 attacks in America were carried out by "rogue elements" of US President George Bush's "neo-con administration". In a rare intervention into the political arena, the male singer with The Corrs band came out against the Lisbon Treaty claiming that it is "tip-toe totalitarianism in the West". In an interview with Matt Cooper on Today FM's 'Last Word', Corr made the case for voting 'No' to Lisbon, claiming it could introduce the death penalty to Ireland and contribute to a "new world order".  Corr's opposition is based on his three years "studying the New World Order which the European Union is a part of".

• Sept 11 prosecutors expect criticism over evidence - U.S. prosecutors preparing to try accused September 11 plotters expect criticism if they seek to use defendants' statements as evidence, because of the abuse of suspects during interrogation. But they say it will not deter them. A team of federal prosecutors working under military leadership is helping to prepare cases against "high-value" terrorism suspects including five facing charges of participating in the September 11, 2001, attacks. The cases begin next week with the arraignment of the five at the U.S. Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

• Wii And Arcade Game ‘Target: Terror’ Is A Response To 9/11, Sequel Coming - It’s a bit ironic I’m spending time writing about my love for “Target: Terror,” a game with a Metacritic score of just 34, during a week where Stephen Totilo is examining reviews. I tracked down Eugene Jarvis, the head of Raw Thrills, who created the arcade version of “Target: Terror.” This is the man responsible for “Defender” and “Robotron” — true classics! I had no idea our interview would end up evoking 9/11. “Target: Terror,” released last month for the Wii, is awesome — just not in the way you’d think. It’s not a very good game in the traditional sense, but it’s full of hysterical b-movie charm (think “Evil Dead”). It’s a different kind of good.

• Torture policies undermine 9/11 case - The Pentagon’s decision to drop war-crimes charges against Mohammed al-Qahtani, the alleged “20th hijacker” in the 9/11 attacks, again underscores the consequences of the Bush administration’s descent into torture and other abusive treatment of “war on terror” detainees. If al-Qahtani’s case had gone forward, the U.S. government would have been forced to reveal its own violations of the Geneva Convention, anti-torture statutes and the laws of war, according to lawyers representing al-Qahtani. “All of the [incriminating] statements Mohammad al-Qahtani made or is alleged to have made were the result of torture or made under the threat of torture and that is in my view why the government decided to dismiss his case at this point,” said Vince Warren, executive director of the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) in New York.

• Prominent Structural Engineers Say Official Version of 9/11 "Impossible" "Defies Common Logic" "Violates the Law of Physics" - Numerous structural engineers now publicly challenge the government's account of the destruction of the Trade Centers on 9/11, including: A prominent engineer with 55 years experience, in charge of the design of hundreds of major building projects including high rise offices, former member of the California Seismic Safety Commission and former member of the National Institute of Sciences Building Safety Council (Marx Ayres) believes that the World Trade Centers were brought down by controlled demolition.

• 9/11 Security Courtesy of Marvin P. Bush - Marvin P. Bush, the president’s younger brother, was a principal in a company called Securacom that provided security for the World Trade Center, United Airlines, and Dulles International Airport. The company, Burns noted, was backed by KuwAm, a Kuwaiti-American investment firm on whose board Marvin Burns also served. [Utne] According to its present CEO, Barry McDaniel, the company had an ongoing contract to handle security at the World Trade Center "up to the day the buildings fell down."

• SOMETHING ANECDOTAL THAT YOU MAY NOT HAVE SEEN!:  Here we have a shot from a 1997 episode of the (utterly corrupt) Fox Corporations 'The Simpsons' TV series... Probably a coincidence, but worth noting!

(FINAL COMMENTARY: This is highly likely an unfortunate coincidence, although remember the Pilot episode of the Lone Gunmen TV series which was also put out by Fox, which aired six months prior to 9/11 and centered around a plotline in which criminal elements of the US government attempt to fly a plane into the WTC in order to start a war on terror - BIZARRE but true).

• Rice defends post 9/11 interrogation techniques - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Thursday defended tough interrogation techniques for terrorism suspects approved by the Bush administration in the wake of 9/11, saying they were necessary to protect America from new attacks. In her most extensive public comments about how the administration dealt with detainee interrogations in the aftermath of Sept. 11, 2001, and the anthrax attacks that followed, Rice insisted the methods of questioning complied with both U.S. law and treaty obligations. But she acknowledged that those rules had since changed and that the United States was a "different place" then, adding that the administration's top priority at the time had been preventing new attacks and not necessarily observing fine legal points. "The fact is that after Sept. 11, whatever was legal in the face of not just the attacks of Sept. 11, but the anthrax attacks that happened, we were in an environment in which saving America from the next attack was paramount," Rice said.

• 9/11 hero's parents, fiancee fight over pension - Until they sat down together yesterday in a Brooklyn courtroom, Doreen Noone said she had not spoken to the parents of her dead firefighter fiance, Kevin Prior, since 2004. In that time, Noone, 36, a remedial reading teacher from Lindenhurst, and Gerard and Marian Prior of Bellmore, have been ensnared in a bitter legal fight over who has the rights to Kevin's pension following his death on Sept. 11.

• 9/11 Workers Face Chronic Mental Impairment: Stress levels comparable to those seen in returning Afghanistan war veterans, study says - Workers and volunteers involved in recovery efforts at the World Trade Center following the 9/11 terrorist attacks have much higher levels of psychological distress than the general population, new research shows. The study analyzed mental health questionnaires completed by more than 10,000 World Trade Center recovery workers between 10 months and 61 months after Sept. 11, 2001. It found that 11.1 percent of the workers met criteria for probable post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), 8.8 percent had probable depression, 5 percent had probable panic disorder, and 62 percent had substantial stress reaction.

• WeAreChange Assaulted by Police in Louisville: Oliver North Confronted; Video Footage Confiscated - Members of WeAreChange were physically removed from Louisville Exposition Center on Sunday after confronting Iran Contra figure Oliver North. Members questioned North on his involvement with Continuity of Government, the new 9/11 investigation and concentration camps in America.

• Moore on new 9/11 Film: "The crimes that these people have committed go far beyond ..." - With his follow-up to "Fahrenheit 9/11," Michael Moore wants to examine America as an empire, study its standing since the Sept. 11 attacks and present revelations to surprise audiences as much as the first film did. But he doesn't want to make a sequel. "To just say it's a sequel is so wrong," Moore told The Associated Press on Friday at the Cannes Film Festival, where he met with potential international distributors for the film, due out in 2009.

• The Red Pill Released Today For Free - Today is the release date for the short documentary film "The Red Pill." The film, less than 20 minutes in length, is not meant for "the choir" and is instead meant as an introduction to the world of the shadow government, 9/11 truth and the importance of a new 9/11 investigation. • Tommy Chong on 9/11 Truth - Asked about his opinion of the events of September 11, 2001, by Alex Jones Show guest host Jason Bermas, Canadian-American comedian, actor and musician Tommy Chong responded by mentioning the fact that the bin Laden family were granted extraordinary White House privileges to fly out of U.S. airspace following the attacks, at a time when access to the United States was restricted and required special government approval. According to Richard Clarke, the Bush administration decided to allow a group of Saudis to fly out of U.S. airspace just after Sept. 11. At least four flights with about 140 Saudis, including approximately two-dozen members of the bin Laden family, flew to Saudi Arabia on the week of September 11, thus avoiding being interviewed or interrogated by the FBI.

• 8 officers who died of post-9/11 illness on NYPD memorial - More than two years after he took his last breath, a detective who developed lung disease after toiling in the World Trade Center's ruins has been added to the New York Police Department's wall of heroes. James Zadroga was one of eight officers who died of post-Sept. 11 illness added to the NYPD's memorial wall, their names engraved onto bronze plaques in the lobby of police headquarters. They became the first NYPD members to be memorialized for dying of illnesses they blame on the dust they breathed at ground zero. "It gives a just honor to Jimmy and to the other officers who worked that day and the days that followed," said Joseph Zadroga, James Zadroga's father, at Wednesday's ceremony. Zadroga, 34, worked hundreds of hours at ground zero beginning Sept. 11, 2001. He soon developed respiratory ailments and died in January 2006 of lung disease.

• Government Itself Won't Swear To Official Theory of 9/11 - While many people question the government's conclusions about 9/11, rest assured that the government agencies tasked with investigating 9/11 are confident that the government's answer to the following questions is correct: (1) How could a rag-tag bunch of hijackers penetrate the strongest military in history and disable normal defensive procedures? (2) How could 3 super-strong, over-engineered buildings become the first modern steel-frame high-rises in history to collapse due to fire, falling at virtually free-fall speed, and exhibiting many indications normally associated with controlled demolition? At least the government itself is confident about the answers to these questions, right? Well, actually...

• Not kooky to doubt Bush 9/11 story - Letter to the Editor: I was disappointed with your piece on Sen. Karen Johnson's views concerning 9/11. The editorial implies that anyone who investigates the veracity of the Bush government's version of 9/11 is on the same plane as a Jonestown cult member, a distortion to be avoided by any who claim to value intellectual honesty. Unfortunately, without a fair hearing from established press such as The Arizona Republic, what may very well be a sound and factual argument will continue to be vilified as dangerous heresy.

• NYPD Officers Killed by 9/11 Illnesses Honored on 'Wall of Heroes' - Eight city cops who succumbed to 9/11 dust-related illnesses will be memorialized on the NYPD's "Wall of Heroes" for officers killed in the line of duty - a poignant nod to their kin, who spent years battling City Hall over how the deaths should be classified. The decision by Police Commissioner Ray Kelly to include the names of the fallen officers on the memorial at One Police Plaza will culminate May 7 in an emotional ceremony at which he and Mayor Bloomberg will preside. "We are happy about it, but it's been a long battle," said Joseph Zadroga, whose son, Detective James Zadroga, died in January 2006 from lung disease after spending about 450 hours at Ground Zero. For years, sickened officers and their families sparred with Bloomberg over whether their illnesses were caused by their logging hundreds of hours at the smoking pile of the World Trade Center and at the Fresh Kills landfill.

• New Dark Knight poster distinctly post-9/11 - A very cool Dark Knight poster is debuted, and features the modern iconography of fear... The whysoserious website set up to promote Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight has released a sensational new poster with a rather post-9/11 sensibility. The poster features Christian Bale as the caped crusader, poised heroically in front of an apparently burning building onto which the Bat-motif has been carved in flames.

• 9/11: The Lack of Foundation Damage at the Pentagon is Irreconcilable with the Official Reports and Data - The lack of foundation damage at the Pentagon is irreconcilable with the official reports and is strong physical evidence contradicting the 9/11 official story. The ASCE Building Performance Report has meticulously documented the damage to the building and has come to the conclusion that all damage from the alleged plane impact was limited to the bottom two floors, but primarily below the 2nd floor slab so that 90 tons of jumbo jet would have slid on it's belly across the 1st floor slab all the way through the C-ring.

• U.S. environment head not liable for 9/11 assurances - The former head of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency cannot be held liable for assurances she gave about air safety following the Sept. 11 attacks in New York, a federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday. Christine Todd Whitman led the agency at the time of the attacks and was sued by people who lived and worked in lower Manhattan who accused her of statements that "falsely represented ... that the air in and around lower Manhattan was safe to breathe." The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit found that Whitman was faced with conflicting information about dangers posed by the dust and that she had passed on assurances that came from the White House.

• We Are Change To Release Assault Videos - After months of tolerating verbal and physical abuse from a fringe group of emotionally unstable "no-planers" at ground zero, Luke Rudkowski and We Are Change have had enough, and are set to release video showing the assaults and attempts to smear We Are Change as being complicit in the Times Square recruitment center bombing. While We Are Change were busy confronting people intimately involved in the 9/11 cover-up like Rudy Giuliani and raising money for the first responders, police, firemen and other heroes of that fateful day, fringe nutcases who advocate discredited and divisive non-issues did little other than harass and abuse Luke Rudkowski and his fellow We Are Change members in New York. The harassment came to a head when the ringleader of the fringe gang, Nico Haupt, gatecrashed a We Are Change ground zero vigil with a huge sign that read "We Did The Time Square Bombing," in a crass attempt to smear the activist group as terrorists. For weeks, the police completely ignored Haupt despite his brazen attempt to incite hostility.

• Netanyahu says 9/11 terror attacks good for Israel - The Israeli newspaper Ma'ariv on Wednesday reported that Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu told an audience at Bar Ilan university that the September 11, 2001 terror attacks had been beneficial for Israel. "We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq," Ma'ariv quoted the former prime minister as saying. He reportedly added that these events "swung American public opinion in our favor." Netanyahu reportedly made the comments during a conference at Bar-Ilan University on the division of Jerusalem as part of a peace deal with the Palestinians.

• "Bond Girl" Comes Out for 9/11 Truth - Lana Wood, actress/activist, recently not only came public on 9/11 truth, but helped create a very creative youtube video that can reach many. Spread it widely, let’s get it up on the youtube rankings - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8hY41o4g58 - It’s a great video because it starts off in a very “youtube-ey quirky” play on her roll as Plenty O’Toole in “Diamonds are Forever,” but THEN very quickly delves into the seriousness of the 9/11 issue, and Lana’s impassioned plea for all of us to get educated on 9/11, and do all we can to launch the first Week of Truth campaign occurring April 16 to 22nd.   (YOUTUBE LINK: Click here)

• Ahmadinejad's Bumbling 9/11 Comments Please Neo-Cons: Iranian President does not represent the truth movement, obsession with his idiocy only proves debunkers are frightened to take on real experts - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's bumbling comments about 9/11, in which he crudely questioned the official story by referring to the death toll, play right into the establishment media and the Neo-Cons' hands and give them an ample opportunity to debunk the entire truth movement - don't think for a minute they won't seize the chance. "Four or five years ago a suspect event took place in New York," President Ahmadinejad said. "A building collapsed and they said 3,000 people had been killed but never published their names," he said in a speech in the holy city of Qom.

• Bush Warns of Another 9/11 - The perverse and perilous paradox of this presidency is that the more Bush and Cheney fail, the more they succeed. Bush parlayed his criminal failure to protect and come to the rescue of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast due to Hurricane Katrina into getting Congress to pass in September 2007 the John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007. The Warner Act abrogates the Posse Comitatus Act (the Civil War law that prohibits the use of federal troops in domestic affairs) and gives the President the power to declare, on his own say so, a "public" emergency" and carry out mass" target="_blank">click here roundups, arrests and detentions.

• July 7 trial told of 9/11 images - Images of the ruined World Trade Centre and Pentagon were found on the computer of an east London man accused of aiding the July 7 bombers, a court has heard. Kingston Crown Court heard the photos were found on a computer belonging to Waheed Ali, accused of accompanying two bombers on a reconnaissance trip. Ali, 24, from Tower Hamlets, denies conspiracy to cause explosions.   (COMMENTARY: 9/11 Images on his computer?  He must have done it then I guess!)

• We Are Change UK - 11th of every month - US Embassy - Members of We Are Change UK visited the United States Embassy in London this April 11th in support of the truthaction.org international autonomous grassroots campaign 'The Eleventh of Every Month'. We encountered some Iraqi refugee's and a large number of police officers.

• 9/11 conspiracy theories may contain the truth - To the Editor: The last time I took copious notes was in grad school, that is, until March 14's 9/11 Truth's presentation at the Hampshire County Library. When they started out their information stunned me and I began writing. Prior to this event, and the library is to be commended for providing a place where citizens can collectively speak truth, I had trouble with the conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11. As the hard facts took their toll on my misperceptions I heard my self-concept telling me that, at large, people who disbelieve in the conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11 use their disbeliefs to ease their embarrassment at having had their faith in our systems ruthlessly taken advantage of.

• UN Human Rights Official Wants Investigation Into US Government Role In 9/11: John Bolton: "This is exactly why we voted against the new human rights council." - An official in the newly formed UN Human Rights Council has called for a fresh investigation into the events of 9/11 in order to examine the possible role that neoconservatives may have played in the attacks. The New York Sun picked up the story today, explaining that Richard Falk, a professor of international law emeritus at Princeton University, and an expert on human rights was assigned to a new position within the council on March 26.

• 9/11 Truthstock kicks off today: Speakers and films present new views about the tragic day - Everyone agrees that the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 in New York and Washington, D.C. were national tragedies, but even 6 1/2 years later, people still don't agree on what actually happened that day. "9/11 Truthstock 2008" kicks off a series of events today to get San Diego State to rethink the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. "It's all about information," said David Taylor of www.truther.org, an on-campus group convinced that the truth behind the tragedies has yet to be publicly revealed. "We're speaking about information that the mainstream media is ignoring and that a lot of very smart and intellectual people are thinking about, and we're trying to say that there needs to be another investigation into what occurred on 9/11."

• Corporate Media Attempts to Marginalize Jesse Ventura - As the videos here demonstrate, at least certain members of the corporate media are paying attention to Jesse Ventura’s appearance earlier this week on the Alex Jones Show. As should be expected, they are making him out to be a nut, primarily for going public “with a radio host who believes the U.S. government was behind the attacks.” In order to diminish the impact of Ventura’s assertion the official 9/11 version is little more than a fairy tale, the talking heads here pull out all the stops, even allude that his book, Don’t Start the Revolution Without Me, is more fiction than fact, in short that Ventura is a liar. After they characterize him as a fiction writer and eccentric nut case, it is hoped people will consider his opinions about the events of September 11, 2008, as the ravings of a mad man. It won’t work, of course. Millions of people are now awake to the fact the government had something to do with the events, although many are still unable to accept the possibility the government would so such a thing, so deep and severe is the propaganda.

• Former Governor Jesse Ventura: WTC Collapse A Controlled Demolition: Navy veteran and movie star savages official story, says media covering up truth about attacks - Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura vehemently savaged the official 9/11 story on a syndicated national radio show today, saying the WTC collapsed like a controlled demolition and was pulverized to dust as he also highlighted the impossible 10 second free fall speed of the towers. Appearing on The Alex Jones Show, Ventura said that his initial reaction to 9/11 was much like most people at the time, and he accepted the official story outright, a response he now regrets because he was in a position of power and could have used it to raise a lot of pointed questions. "I kicked myself when it initially happened that the light didn't go off but I was so shocked that this thing had even taken place that I apologize for not being more aware," said Ventura, adding that watching Loose Change at the insistence of his son was part of the catalyst for his wake up call.

• Top Comedian Believes In 9/11 Conspiracy: Actress Cho says Americans will be angry when they realize true agenda behind attacks - Top comedian and actress Margaret Cho has joined Willie Nelson and Charlie Sheen in questioning the official 9/11 story, stating that the public were going to become very angry when they realized there was a conspiracy behind the terror attacks. Appearing on the nationally syndicated Alex Jones Show, Cho said her doubts about 9/11 were sparked by President Bush's non-reaction to the unfolding crisis. "I got concerned right after 9/11 where the plane had hit the World Trade Center and he was in that classroom with all those children and they told him what was going on and he did nothing," said Cho.

• Centers Tap Into Personal Databases: State Groups Were Formed After 9/11 - Intelligence centers run by states across the country have access to personal information about millions of Americans, including unlisted cellphone numbers, insurance claims, driver's license photographs and credit reports, according to a document obtained by The Washington Post. One center also has access to top-secret data systems at the CIA, the document shows, though it's not clear what information those systems contain.

• Ted Olson's Report of Phone Calls from Barbara Olson on 9/11: Three Official Denials: by David Ray Griffin - Late in the day on 9/11, CNN put out a story that began: “Barbara Olson, a conservative commentator and attorney, alerted her husband, Solicitor General Ted Olson, that the plane she was on was being hijacked Tuesday morning, Ted Olson told CNN.” According to this story, Olson reported that his wife had “called him twice on a cell phone from American Airlines Flight 77,” saying that “all passengers and flight personnel, including the pilots, were herded to the back of the plane by armed hijackers. The only weapons she mentioned were knives and cardboard cutters.”

• Some 9/11 victims weren't compensated - More than 100 people who developed serious illnesses from exposure to Ground Zero overflowed a Capitol Hill hearing room Tuesday and two House subcommittees debated whether the government should compensate them. The victims, including police, firefighters, construction workers and even former bus driver Gil Gonzalez of Jersey City, likely would have qualified for federal payments from a fund created in 2001, only their symptoms showed up too late. The 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund paid out more than $7 billion in taxpayer funds to nearly 5,600 survivors and victims, but was required by law to stop accepting claims in December 2003.

• Attorney General Mukasey lies about 9/11 and international spying - In a recent speech at San Francisco’s Commonwealth Club, Attorney General Michael Mukasey defended the Bush-Cheney administration’s illegal domestic spying agenda by proclaiming that the 9/11 attacks could have been prevented if the government had been able to monitor overseas phone calls to the United States. Like every other member of the Bush-Cheney administration, Mukasey is lying. Lying about the fact that the “war on terrorism” is a fabrication. Lying about the pervasive worldwide eavesdropping capabilities of US intelligence agencies. Lying about the fact that 9/11 was a long-planned Anglo-American false flag covert operation. According to Mukasey’s spin on the now-classic 9/11 fiction, Bush-Cheney “knew there had been a call from some place that was known to be a safe house in Afghanistan and we knew that it came to the United States. We didn’t know precisely where it went. We’ve got 3,000 people who went to work that day, and didn’t come home, to show for that.” 

• Telecom Immunity: Playing the "9/11 Card" ... Again - The Bush administration, never known for its veracity on any issue, once again is playing the "9/11 card" in an desperate attempt to continue violating the Fourth Amendment rights of the American people. U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey, a darling of Senate Democrats prior to his confirmation as Bush's top lawyer, said in speech on Thursday at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, that the September 11, 2001 attacks could have been prevented "if the government had been able to monitor an overseas phone call to the United States," according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

• Government-Funded Investigators Accused Of WTC Cover-Up: American Society of Civil Engineers lied about inability of skyscrapers to withstand airliner impacts - The American Society of Civil Engineers - an organization that was funded by FEMA to investigate the collapse of the twin towers on 9/11 - has been accused of engaging in a cover-up to protect the government, with critics charging the organization falsified conclusions that skyscrapers could not withstand getting hit by airplanes. The group has been forced to convene an investigative panel which could lead to a suspension in government funding. The Federal Emergency Management Agency paid the group about $257,000 to investigate the World Trade Center collapse and their report was released in 2002.

What started out as a adversarial confrontation with members of We Are Change turned into a cordial discussion as Dietl contradicted some of his previous public statements on 9/11 and appeared to agree with the group on several issues, presumably prompted by the fact that his daughter was doing a research paper on 9/11 which lent credence to the suspect nature of the official story behind the attacks. 

• FBI abuse after 9/11 detailed - The FBI illegally collected information on citizens in 2006, continuing its misuse of expanded powers granted by Congress after the 9/11 attacks, an audit by the Justice Department's inspector general said Thursday. The report said the agency violated rules for obtaining phone, e-mail, financial and other records using national security letters, a type of subpoena that doesn't need court approval. A study last year revealed similar abuses. Assistant FBI Director John Miller said the bureau will continue to work to eliminate the problems.

• Is the CIA’s “Mighty Wurlitzer” Playing Geraldo Rivera? - Another example of the 'truthers are terrorists' talking point that corporate media hacks are emanating in unison, as we previously predicted they would. It must have been a disappointment for Faux Mockingbird News. Back on March 7, it was discovered that the “bombing” of the Pentagon recruitment center in Times Square was not the handiwork of “anarchists” or antiwar activists, although the corporate media tried mightily to forge such a link. As it turned out the “letters,” described as a “manifesto,” the corporate media initially attempted to link to the “bombing” were not connected, much to the frustration of trash TV careerist Geraldo Rivera. On Fox and Friends, Geraldo declared Times Square is a “magnet for these crazy people, for anarchists… that’s what I think this is, this bomber isn’t al-Qaeda, isn’t anything like that, he is more like — it’s a man — he’s more like those 9/11 was an inside job kind of guys, they… they protest things in a violent way, but in a violent way almost like the eco-terrorist where they don’t intend the inflict casualties.”

• 9/11 Attacks Harm First Amendment - The shadow of the Sept. 11 terror attacks is eclipsing press freedom and other constitutional safeguards in the United States, Associated Press President and CEO Tom Curley said Thursday. "What has become clear in the aftermath of 9/11 is how much expediency trumps safeguards," Curley said during the annual dinner of the Radio and Television News Directors Foundation. "Congress steps back from its constitutional role of executive oversight. Civilian oversight of the military wanes. A Justice Department interprets laws in ways that extend police powers. More drastically, prisons are established in places where government or military operatives circumvent due process or control trials," Curley said in accepting the foundation's First Amendment Leadership Award. "It's at moments like these when a free press matters most," he said.

All hell brakes loose in the next few minutes, as Alten enters the realms of 9/11 truth, explaining to the stunned Bohanan and and his virgin (9/11 truth issue) audience that there is a mass 9/11 truth movement in America that involves engineers, police, private investigators, and many other experts challenging the official 9/11 story.

• Environmental Illnesses Haunt Some Who Covered 9/11 - Between 2002 and 2004, The World Trade Center Worker and Volunteer Medical Screening Program surveyed 9,442 workers, including 81 who worked for news agencies. The survey found that this group was five times as likely as the general population to suffer from reduced breathing capacity. The NYPPA has been encouraging 9/11 journalists to fill out an anonymous online survey. By early February, the survey had logged 161 responses. Respondents reported a variety of breathing problems like asthma and persistent coughing, and symptoms of depression and PTSD. Thirty-six of them said post-9/11 health problems have affected their careers.

• Marion Cotillard 'in shock' over 9/11 row, but will not apologise - Marion Cotillard, the Oscar-winning French actress, will not apologise over remarks she made describing the 9/11 attacks as a conspiracy and believes that the comments had been taken out of context and misunderstood. Cotillard, who won the Best Actress statuette last week for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose, has claimed that the September 11 atrocity had been orchestrated by the owners of the Twin Towers. The comments, made in an interview first broadcast a year ago, have resurfaced on the internet since her Oscar victory. Cotillard said that the towers were destroyed not as part of a terrorist plot, but because it would have been too expensive to rewire them.   (COMMENTARY: Granted, her analysis does not seem to expose much of the picture as to why 9/11 was staged by criminal elements of the US government/military, but what really matters is that she had the courage and integrity to bring attention to the issue.  Here we are in 2008 - six and a half years since 9/11 and we still see these arrogant fools laughing at us and attacking us for seeking and spreading the truth about 9/11.  So on a personal level, for that reason, we can only admire her for speaking out)

• Cotillard's 9/11 Comments Echo Widely-Respected Experts, Public Opinion: Attack dog media attempts to isolate and ridicule French actress by hiding the fact that hundreds of other widely respected experts, as well as the majority of the public, agree with her - A smear campaign against Oscar-winning French actress Marion Cotillard is now in full swing, with the establishment media attempting to hide the fact that her comments about 9/11 echo the sentiment of hundreds of widely-respected intelligence and scientific experts in addition to public opinion. Cotillard's statements about the suspicious collapse of the WTC buildings mirror those of a 20-year Marine Corps infantry and intelligence veteran. In February 2007, 20-year Marine Corps infantry and intelligence officer, the second-ranking civilian in U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence, and former CIA clandestine services case officer Robert Steele went on record as saying that, "Dick Cheney saw this as a gift of heaven, and organized the 9-11 exercises so as to have complete operational control of the U.S. government, and he "let it happen." Steele also directly accused WTC complex leaseholder Larry Silverstein of having advance knowledge of the attacks and rigging the WTC towers and Building 7 with demolition charges, "In order to clear the area for rebuilding and get the $7 billion in insurance money."

• US christens '9/11 steel' warship - Thousands of people have watched the naming in Louisiana of a US warship built partly from steel salvaged from the World Trade Center. The twin towers in New York were destroyed in the hijacked planes attack of 11 September 2001. Friends and families of 9/11 victims were among those at the ceremony for the new amphibious assault ship, the USS New York, in the base of Avondale. The bow contains 7.5 tonnes of steel taken from Ground Zero. It also bore a shield with two bars to symbolise the towers and a banner with the slogan Never Forget.

• Oscar-Winning Actress Claims The U.S. Was Behind 9/11 Attacks - The French actress who last week won an Oscar for portraying singer Edith Piaf has now sparked controversy by hinting that the U.S. intentionally plotted the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C. Marion Cotillard, 32, openly questioned the U.S. government's role in the terror attacks during an interview broadcast on a French website. In the discussion, Cotillard strongly indicated that the collapse of the World Trade Center towers was orchestrated by America. "A tower... I believe it was in Spain, burned for 24 hours. It never collapsed," she said. "In a few minutes, the [World Trade Center] collapsed." "I think we are lied to about a number of things," she added.

• International Investigation of 9/11 Called For - Against a background of escalating ecological crises, and the fact that large parts of the world´s population are being exposed to extreme poverty, inhuman working conditions and increasing social tensions, the annual global military expenditure has risen to more than 1000 billion dollars. The military-industrial complex of just a few G8 countries is responsible for the overwhelming part of this spending, causing incalcuable social and ecological consequences. Unequal distribution of global resources, increasingly controlled by large multinational companies, global debt policy and unfair international trading practices ultimately could not be maintained without military security. In many countries the military is used to repress critical opposition.

• Lawyer Says Bin Laden Did Not Orchestrate 9/11 During Terror Trial: Al-Qaeda leader never claimed responsibility for attack, Van de Wiel tells Australian Supreme Court - Skepticism towards the 9/11 official story reached the Australian Supreme Court this week after a lawyer asserted that the attacks were not orchestrated by Osama bin Laden during the trial of an alleged terror group in Melbourne. "To say that this was all orchestrated by Osama bin Laden is a silly thing to do. He's never claimed responsibility for it," Remy van de Wiel QC told the Australian jury. Unless you accept the credibility of a dodgy videotape of a fat Bin Laden doppelganger "miraculously discovered" in a house in Jalalabad by U.S. troops and pushed as authentic by the ever-honest U.S. government, then van de Wiel has a point.

• Betrayed and Ignored: The Bush Outrage Against the 9/11 First Responders - This week I posted a piece called "Betrayed" about the many 9/11 first responders whose health and lives have been shattered by their work at Ground Zero, and the government's 77 percent cut in healthcare for them in the new Bush budget. At first they were lied to by a government that assured them that there was little or no risk to the work, in order to get Wall Street up and operating; then, once so many came down with respiratory diseases and cancers, they were lied to again by this same government that promised to help them get through the tremendous costs of injuries connected to 9/11. Some of these men and women rallied in Washington yesterday on the capitol steps, hoping to get passage of James Zagroda's bill which attempts to alleviate some of their medical bills and the economic suffering that has resulted from their illnesses.

• CBC: Canadians greet Karl Rove with charges of 9/11 being an inside job! No US media coverage? - When a former President’s aid is greeted in a friendly nation by protesters claiming he had a role in the most horrific attack on the United States in modern history, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation covers it . . . wouldn’t that be a newsworthy item for US media? One would think so if they lived in a democracy with a vibrant fourth estate. However if they lived in a corporatocracy, they sadly would accept that media was part of a new propaganda art, that enables the rule of corporate government over people's needs for truth.

• Willie Nelson Re-Iterates Comments About 9/11 WTC "Implosion" - Willie Nelson re-iterated comments first made on The Alex Jones Show about the implosion of the World Trade Center twin towers on 9/11, telling Democracy Now that he has questions about the official story. "Well, I have a lot of questions. I think a lot of people have a lot of questions. I think 85 or 90 percent of the people in this country say, “What?” I mean, a plane hit this building, and it fell kind of like that. And another plane hit that building, and it fell kind of like that. About the same time it fell, this one fell the same way. It looked like an implosion somewhere, you know? And then, all of a sudden, the third building fell, and no plane hit it. So, naturally, I’ve got questions."  

• FBI Says Barbara Olsen Did Not Call Ted Olsen: Bush Solicitor General LIED !! - Nationally syndicated talk show host Charles Goyette uncovered blockbuster information in his drive-time interview with author David Ray Griffin. A center piece of the increasingly apparent BULLSH*T story our government and corporate media have fed us for six long years was a complete fabrication! We were fed a lie by Ted Olsen who served as Solictor General for the Bush Administration, when on 9/11 he held a press conference to tell America and the world that his dead wife had called him before her demise from the jet she was on that had just been hijacked. Personally, I thought it was odd at the time that a man would decide to hold a press conference minutes after hearing of his own wife’s death, when it happened on 9/11. If my own wife had just died, the last thing I’d want to do would be to talk to anyone, let alone call a press conference. It didn’t “smell” right. Now we know why it didn’t smell right. It was a lie. The FBI has reported that no such call between Barbara Olsen and Ted Olsen ever took place on 9/11/2001. It was part of the rapidly unraveling scam that is the official story of 9/11. In fact, Griffin went on to explain that there is zero evidence that any hijackers had commandeered a plane at all. True Bush believers will say, whao, wait a minute, we all know they did. How do you know? Because Bush told you.

• Study Highlights Deep Seated Psychological Impact Of 9/11: Spectacular images of attacks have "changed the way people dream" - A new study has revealed that the spectacular images broadcast around the world on September 11th 2001 have had a profound psychological impact upon people. Researchers at Tufts University School of Medicine and the Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, have found that every single person they assessed during a study has more vivid and intense dreams since the attacks occurred. Dr. Ernest Hartmann, author of the study, told Reuters Health that he believes everyone who witnessed the attacks has experienced some sort of trauma or emotional arousal.

• These catch-all terror laws are killing off British justice - Slowly, oh so slowly, Britain’s judges are rescuing Britain’s values from the depths to which Tony Blair and his home secretaries plunged them in the knee-jerk response to terrorism. The acts passed by Jack Straw, David Blunkett and Charles Clarke from 2000 onwards did not create a British Guantanamo Bay, but they did signal a shocking collapse in British justice. The present home secretary, Jacqui Smith, wants to further that collapse. Last week the Court of Appeal handed down two trenchant verdicts in an attempt to inject common sense into nonsensical terror laws. One implicitly demanded an apology and compensation from the government for a wholly innocent airline pilot imprisoned in 2001 after the police and Crown Prosecution Service lied to a court that he was the “lead instructor” of the 9/11 hijackers. He had merely been an Algerian who once trained in Florida. Every shred of evidence appeared to have been fabricated by police in America – possibly obtained under torture – and used without question by the British police. The pilot was released after five months of being treated as a terrorist in Belmarsh jail, without explanation, apology or even exoneration. His career, reputation and family were in ruins.

• Pilot Wrongly Accused Of 9/11 Role Could Get Millions In Compensation - THE pilot wrongly accused of training the 9/11 terrorists could be in line for a multi-million-pound payout after winning the right to claim compensation from the Government. Algerian Lotfi Raissi said he "wept with relief" when three appeal court judges overturned earlier rulings barring him from suing for wrongful arrest and imprisonment Under the rules, there is no cap on the amount the 33-year-old can be awarded. Justice officials say the largest sum ever paid out was £2.4 million. Mr Raissi was taken from his home in September 2001, 10 days after the World Trade Centre atrocity. Police acted after a US extradition request from the FBI. He was kept in London's Belmarsh jail for four and a half months before being freed when no evidence was put forward.

• 'CIA set up ill-conceived firms to snag terrorists post 9/11' - Post September 11 attacks in the US, the CIA set up a number of bogus companies in Europe and elsewhere to penetrate terrorist organisation and proliferation networks, but the plan proved ill-conceived, a media report has said. "The CIA set up a network of front companies in Europe and elsewhere after the September 11 attacks as part of a constellation of 'black stations' for a new generation of spies, according to current and former agency officials," Los Angeles Times reported. However, after putting hundreds of millions of dollars into setting up as many as 12 of the companies, the agency had to close down 10 of them as the plan could not deliver due to various reasons.

• 9/11 Timeline Obtains Major New FBI Document - “A contributor to the History Commons has obtained a 298-page document entitled Hijackers Timeline (Redacted) from the FBI, subsequent to a Freedom of Information Act request. The document was a major source of information for the 9/11 Commission's final report. Though the commission cited the timeline 52 times in its report, it failed to include some of the document's most important material. The printed document is dated November 14, 2003, but appears to have been compiled in mid-October 2001 (the most recent date mentioned in it is October 22, 2001), when the FBI was just starting to understand the backgrounds of the hijackers, and it contains almost no information from the CIA, NSA, or other agencies. This raises questions as to why the 9/11 Commission relied so heavily on such an early draft for their information about the hijackers.”

• UK's 'concerns' over 9/11 trials - Foreign Secretary David Miliband has said he has "some concerns" over US military tribunals for six men charged with involvement in the 9/11 attacks. The US government has promised fair trials for the Guantanamo Bay inmates, who could face the death penalty. But human rights groups say the tribunals make this impossible and that the defendants were tortured. Mr Miliband told BBC Radio 2's Jeremy Vine show there was "absolutely no question" that torture was illegal.

• Rights group attacks US over trials for 9/11 accused - Human rights groups and lawyers in the United States have criticised the decision to use special military commissions to try six men accused of organising the September 11 terrorist attacks. Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff has promised a fair trial for the defendants who are being held at Guantanamo Bay detention camp. Lawyers from the Centre for Constitutional Rights are representing one of the defendants. Organisation executive director Vincent Warren says the six men should be tried in criminal courts. "With respect to the rights that the general is saying the detainees have, it's really problematic on a number of levels," he said. "First of all, while they may have a right to remain silent in this process, they didn't have the right to remain silent when they were being waterboarded over a period of time and held in CIA facilities." 

• Tortured Patsies To Take Fall For 9/11: Pentagon hopes executed scapegoats will make questions disappear - After half a dozen years of waterboarding, genital zapping, sleep deprivation and brainwashing, the Pentagon has finally found six patsies who will readily welcome their 72 virgins and take the fall for 9/11, providing debunkers with ample ammunition to dismiss questions about the gaping holes in the official story of the terror attacks. "Among those held at Guantanamo is Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the attack six years ago in which hijacked planes were flown into buildings in New York and Washington. Five others are expected to be named in sworn charges," reports the Associated Press. The fact that KSM's confession included a plan to target the Plaza Bank building in Washington state, which was not founded until 2006, four years after the alleged Al-Qaeda mastermind's arrest, should provide a clue as to the reliability of the "terror mastermind's" culpability for 9/11.

• 9/11: OBAMA IN FAVOUR OF DEATH PENALTY WITH 'FLAWLESS TRIALS' - Obama Barack is in favour of the death penalty for the terrorists who should turn out to be responsible for 9/11, but he also pretends flawless procedures at the Guantanamo military commissions. 'Obviously, we need to make sure that the organisers and executors of those terror attacks should be brought to justice and death penalty is appropriate for such heinous crimes,' said the senator of Illinois in order to comment the Pentagon request for a death penalty against six Guantanamo prisoners. 'However, these trials must be flawless.' Hence the request that terrorists should not be judged by the controversial Guantanamo military commissions: 'Those trials are too important, the system of military commissions has many faults, all those who have been condemned for 9/11 so far deserved an appeal.' John McCain, the favourite Republican candidate for the White House, is tougher on this issue. According to him, the trial involving the six people accused of being responsible for 9/11 should have started long ago: 'I am sorry that it took so long, let's get this trial started,' he said and reiterated in an interview that - should he be elected - he will close the Guantanamo detention centre and transfer prisoners to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

• Bill O'Reilly Smears An American Icon And Declares Himself A Patriot In The Same Breath: Brands Willie Nelson a "pinhead" and says he is a patriot for guessing football scores - Fox News bigot Bill O'Reilly took time on his "factor" last night to call music legend Willie Nelson a "pinhead" for supporting 9/11 truth, while declaring himself the ultimate patriot for being able to guess football scores. In his cutting edge segment entitled "Pinheads and Patriots" O'Reilly first took time to extol the virtues of his own fierce patriotism.

• Bush's budget may cut 9/11 health funds - U.S. President George Bush's new budget would cut health funding for people affected by the 9/11 terrorist attacks by more than 75 percent, a report said. Monday's budget release came a day before the publication of a study in the Archives of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, which cites continued emotional distress and sleeping problems for preschool children who witnessed New York's 9/11 terrorist attacks, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday. "It looks like we found the children the president wants to leave behind," Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., said. The study reportedly shows preschool children who saw the attacks on 9/11 are three times more susceptible to anxiety and depression and five times more susceptible to sleeping difficulties than kids who did not witness the events.

• Willie Nelson questions Sept. 11 on local talk radio show - Willie Nelson went on a nationally syndicated radio show Monday, and questioned the official story of what happened on Sept. 11. Nelson said the collapse of the World Trade Center towers reminded him of a hotel implosion in Las Vegas. “The day it happened, I saw one fall and it was just so symmetrical,” Nelson said on Alex Jones' talk show. “I said, ‘Wait a minute, I just saw that last week at the casino in Las Vegas’, and you see these implosions all the time, and the next one fell and I said, ‘Hell, there’s another one.' They’re trying to tell me that an airplane did it and I can’t go along with that.”

• MIND CONTROL AFTER-EFFECTS OF 9/11: 9/11 Attacks Changed Way Americans Dream - The terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, not only caused huge political and social changes, they also altered the dreams of Americans. That's the suggestion from a small study published in the February issue ofSleep. Dr. Ernest Hartmann of Tufts University and Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Boston looked at 11 men and 33 women, aged 22-70, who'd been recording their dreams for at least two years. Each of the participants provided information about 20 consecutive dreams, 10 before 9/11 and 10 after 9/11. The study found that dreams after 9/11 showed more intense images, but weren't longer, more dreamlike or more bizarre than those before terrorists flew planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. In addition, the dreams after 9/11 did not contain more images of airplanes or buildings. None of the participants had dreams involving airplanes flying into buildings, even though they'd all seen such images many times on TV. "The more intense imagery is very consistent with findings in people who have experienced trauma of various kinds," Hartmann said in a prepared statement. "The idea is that we all experienced at least some trauma on (9/11)."

• Key 9/11 Commission Staffer Held Secret Meetings With Rove, Scaled Back Criticisms of White House - A forthcoming book by NYT reporter Philip Shenon — “The Commission: The Uncensored History of the 9/11 Investigation” — asserts that former 9/11 Commission executive director Philip Zelikow interfered with the 9/11 report. According to the book, Zelikow had failed to inform the commission at the time he was hired that he was instrumental in helping Condoleezza Rice set up Bush’s National Security Council in 2001. Some panel staffers believe Zelikow stopped them from submitting a report depicting Rice’s performance prior to 9/11 as “amount[ing] to incompetence.”

• Bill Clinton Undeterred By 9/11 Hecklers - ABC News' Sarah Amos Reports: Former President Bill Clinton took the phrase "on-message" to a new level in Denver yesterday, when hecklers began shouting about how September 11th was a conspiracy theory that needed further investigation. Clinton had just begun his speech to the crowd, when a man towards the front of the crowd began shouting about re-opening the 9/11 investigation and the war in Iraq. When the crowd tried to boo the man into silence, Clinton continued: "Let him talk." The heckler's exact wording wasn't quite audible from the press risers, but the tone was apparent to everyone in the arena, including Clinton. “Are you one of those it was an inside job guys?" the former president asked. Continuing, "Hillary agrees we should end the war, but we have heard from you now, now you hear from me. I let you be rude and interrupt me screaming at the top of your lungs. Nine-eleven was NOT an inside job, it was an Osama Bin Laden job with 19 people from Saudi Arabia, they murdered 3000 Americans and others foreigners including Muslims and we look like idiots, that the people who murdered our fellow citizens did it, when they are continuing to murder other people around the world. So we heard from you, you go away," Clinton said to the cheering crowd. (NOTE: Former President Bill Clinton made a mistake when he cited the nationalities of the 9/11 hijackers. In fact, 15 out of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.)

• MSNBC: Key 9/11 Commission Report Testimony Based on Torture - The 9/11 Commission suspected that critical information it used in its landmark report was the product of harsh interrogations of al-Qaida operatives - interrogations that many critics have labeled torture. Yet, commission staffers never questioned the agency about the interrogation techniques and in fact ordered a second round of interrogations specifically to ask additional questions of the same operatives, NBC News has learned. Those conclusions are the result of an extensive NBC News analysis of the 9/11 Commission’s Final Report and interviews with Commission staffers and current and former U.S. intelligence officials.

• Demise Of Al-Qaeda Leader Championed For Second Time: U.S. government, corporate media celebrate death of man they told us had been captured three years ago, succeed in out-Orwelling George Orwell - The death of "senior Al-Qaeda leader" Abu Laith al-Libi is being celebrated by Neo-Cons as a reason for continuing the endless war on terror - absent one crucial detail - the corporate media widely reported that another "senior Al-Qaeda leader" named al-Libi had been arrested back in May 2005. The American people have been fooled again in another case of mass public deception.

• 9/11 responder attends State of the Union - John Feal of Nesconset had vowed never to return to the nation's capital. The former demolition supervisor, whose left foot was crushed by an eight-ton steel beam while he worked to remove debris from Ground Zero, said it was simply too painful to be reminded of what he sees as the Bush administration's abandonment of him and other 9/11 responders. But yesterday, Feal, 41, gave it another shot, sitting in the gallery of the U.S. Capitol, along with eight other first responders, who are battling illnesses and other disabilities related to their service. The Libertarian Leadership Conference is a meeting of all Libertarian
activists, organizers, candidates, and financial supporters.  The
Leadership Conference is hosted annually by the Libertarian State
Chairs' Organization.   Every attendee will find more interesting
events than they will be able to do.

This year, the Libertarian Leadership Conference will be held in Las

• Neo-cons, not military, behind 9/11 - In his article (“Barrett alleges discrimination at 2 UW schools,” Jan. 21) Pedro Oliveira Jr. misstates my position, writing, “Barrett was heavily scrutinized in fall 2006 for his public affiliation with the belief that the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center were perpetrated by the U.S. military.” In fact, I have no affiliation with any such belief. The U.S. military consists of over 100,000 men and women, the vast majority of whom are loyal, patriotic Americans. Indeed, many military officers, including a general and several colonels, have bravely joined the 9/11 Truth Movement. And the 9/11 Truth Movement’s favorite Republican candidate, Ron Paul, is by far the biggest recipient of campaign contributions from U.S. military personnel. This suggests that the military is ahead of other American institutions in opposing and exposing the 9/11 crimes of high treason and mass murder.

• Care for 9/11 Responders Is Piecemeal: Plan for Processing Center On Hold, Funding Uncertain - As President Bush gives his State of the Union speech Monday, there will be one man in the audience who plans to sit quietly and watch, his very presence a form of protest. Joseph Libretti, 51, is sick. He has been diagnosed with chronic lung disease since volunteering after Sept. 11, 2001, to cut through steel to remove bodies from the gritty, smoking pile of detritus of the World Trade Center. Now, too weak to return to his job as an ironworker, he mostly keeps close to his Pennsylvania home. He is among a group of responders demanding a coherent national program to provide local medical treatment for Ground Zero workers from outside New York City who answered the call to help after the terrorist attacks. An existing program was effectively halted in December, when the federal government canceled its search for a contractor to process medical reimbursements.

• LIFTING THE VEIL: Endgame, Loose Change, and Freedom to Fascism Rank High at Google Video - As a glance at the most viewed videos at Google Video reveals this morning, truth videos are increasingly popular on the video sharing and search service, even with Google’s notorious habit of monkey-wrenching viewer statistics, especially those associated with Alex Jones’ Endgame, Terrorstorm, and the 9/11 blockbuster, Loose Change, written, directed, and produced by Dylan Avery, Korey Rowe, and Jason Bermas. Endgame came in the number 2 position after the Zeitgeist trailer.

• How I Came To Distrust the Official 9/11 Conspiracy Theory - From 2001 through most of 2007, I didn't think much about this subject. I had casually wondered if the fires could actually be responsible for bringing the towers down, thinking about the heat and thermodynamics necessary to weaken the steel columns. I have an undergraduate degree in chemistry, and find thermodynamics very interesting. The idea that fires fueled by office materials and jet fuel (enhanced kerosene) could weaken steel beams, resulting in total failure of the entire structure seemed vaguely unlikely. After all, there have been other large steel-structured office building fires that had not resulted in complete, catastrophic collapse, but I didn’t dwell on my vague doubts. I have since learned there have been no complete, catastrophic collapses of steel-framed buildings due to fire recorded, ever, like these. There have been partial collapses, involving a few floors, and considerable damage due to fire, but no complete collapses ever of steel-framed buildings. On 9/11, we are given to believe there were three.

• Insights of a Canadian Lawyer: Was 9/11 an Inside Job?: by Hal. C. Sisson, QC - In mid January 2008 united 9/11 Truth Movements across Canada, spearheaded by Victoria and Vancouver branches, sent a petition letter to the heads of all Canadian political parties and to every Member of Parliament. The letter requested two things: a. A call for a new investigation into the events of September 11, 2001 by an independent and impartial tribunal, plus b. Open discussion in Parliament of, or a national referendum on, the proposed integration of Canada, the United States and Mexico into a North American Union, under the Security and Prosperity Partnership agreement, (originally signed in 2005 in Waco Texas by then Prime Minister Paul Martin); an Agreement that has never been discussed outside of a cabal of senior government officials and military and corporate leaders.

• The chinks in Giuliani's 9/11 armor: His composed response after the attacks is at the core of his presidential campaign. But some of the chaos that hobbled rescuers was rooted in his blind spots as New York's mayor - On Sept. 11, 2001, Rudolph W. Giuliani emerged from the ash plumes of the ruined World Trade Center as much an icon as the fallen towers. His drawn face was coated in concrete dust. His painstaking words were freighted with the unimaginable. "There were so many people around, so many problems," Giuliani recalled in his autobiography. The counting of the dead had not begun, and he had to publicly reckon with the disaster's human toll. "The number of casualties," he told the world, "will be more than any of us can bear ultimately."

• The 9/11 porn of Cloverfield - At some point we knew it had to happen. After all, it does to nearly every great event in modern American history. It doesn't matter if the subject matter is tragic or horrifying or simply embarrassing; a Hollywood exec can take that signature moment and turn it into a crowd-pleasing actioner, a goofy rom-com, or a half-witted television pilot. Tinsel Town hungers for new concepts like Bill Clinton hungers for 40 winks and a hummer. The slavery era was given a zip-a-dee-doo-dah makeover in Song of the South. By harnessing the combined powers of Technicolor, animation, and songwriting, Walt Disney was able to whitewash the darkest days of American history.

• 9/11 Contradictions: When Did Cheney Enter the Underground Bunker?: by David Ray Griffin - With regard to the morning of 9/11, everyone agrees that at some time after 9:03 (when the South Tower of the World Trade Center was struck) and before 10:00, Vice President Dick Cheney went down to the Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC), sometimes simply called the “bunker,” under the east wing of the White House. Everyone also agrees that, once there, Cheney was in charge---that he was either making decisions or relaying decisions from President Bush. But there is enormous disagreement as to exactly when Cheney entered the PEOC. According to The 9/11 Commission Report, Cheney arrived “shortly before 10:00, perhaps at 9:58” (The 9/11 Commission Report [henceforth 9/11CR], 40). This official time, however, contradicts almost all previous reports, some of which had him there before 9:20. This difference is important because, if the 9/11 Commission’s time is correct, Cheney was not in charge in the PEOC when the Pentagon was struck, or for most of the period during which United Flight 93 was approaching Washington. But if the reports that have him there by 9:20 are correct, he was in charge in the PEOC all that time.

• Tom Cruises 9/11 ‘lies’ web rant sparks anger in the US - American actor Tom Cruise has sparked outrage in the U.S, after he accused government officials of lying following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In a new promotional video for Scientology, the actor was seen blasting the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for endangering the health of emergency service staff at ground zero. “The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) came out and said the air was clean. Of course as a Scientologist you go, ‘That’s a lie.’ You just go, ‘Liar’, Contactmusic quoted him as saying. “Finally you say, dammit, just go there and do it. Put it there, let’s go, here’s the money, let’s go. Let’s just get one person treated. I can’t sleep another night,” he added.   (COMMENTARY: Okay, all the Tom Cruise-Scientology publicity hype and hysteria stuff aside for a moment, lets put this into the proper perspective.  Take a deep breath if it helps...  How can it be considered a lie to claim that the American government lied about the safety of Ground Zero in the aftermath of the WTC fall out on 9/11.  This is a fact.... • 'Cloverfield': Horror Film Not Sensitive About 9/11 - Matt Reeves’ "Cloverfield," produced by J.J. Abrams of "Lost" and "Alias" fame, is an 84-minute rollercoaster ride of a monster movie that should be a big hit. But Cloverfield also inadvertently disses New York for what happened on Sept. 11, 2001, by re-enacting scenes of buildings exploding and massive clouds of debris for fun and profit. Does no one recall what was said following the World Trade Center disasters? There was such sensitivity about the huge human losses that images of the Twin Towers were erased from movie posters and excised from films. Yet six years later, the "Cloverfield" gang is cool enough with it to show New York being pulverized. Very quickly and without warning, downtown New York is destroyed. The first bit of damage is depicted by a World Trade Center-like structure exploding and collapsing downward, sending off a cloud not unlike those my friends ran from that day.

• J7 (UK 7/7 Truth Campaign) Decline to participate in BBC's Conspiracy Files - Shortly after the second anniversary of 7th July 2005, J7: The July 7th Truth Campaign was contacted by Chris Alcock of the BBC who advised us of plans for a BBC documentary covering the events of 7th July 2005. No detail about the nature of the 'documentary' was provided until five months later, in December 2007, when another BBC employee, Assistant Producer Susan Prichard, advised us by email that the BBC production in question, rather than being a serious documentary effort for which the BBC was once well known, was in fact an episode of BBC2's risible Conspiracy Files series.   (RELATED: See our affiliated archive on the BBC's previous hit-piece on the 9/11 Truth Movement 'The Conspiracy Files')

• 9/11 Contradictions: Bush in the Classroom: by Dr. David Ray Griffin - The official story of 9/11 is riddled with internal contradictions. One of these contradictions involves the question of how long President Bush remained in classroom in Sarasota, Florida, on the morning of 9/11. Bush was there to publicize his education policy by being photographed listening to students read. He arrived at the school at 8:55 AM, at which time he reportedly first learned that a plane had struck one of the Twin Towers. Dismissing the crash as an accident, Bush said that they would go ahead and “do the reading thing anyway.” Bush entered the second-grade classroom of teacher Sandra Kay Daniels at about 9:03. At about 9:06, the president’s chief of staff, Andrew Card, came in and whispered in Bush’s ear, telling him, Card later reported, “A second plane hit the second Tower. America is under attack.”  Thanks to Michael Moore’s film Fahrenheit 9/11, which came out in 2004, the world knows what happened next: Bush remained sitting there minute after minute after minute. Journalists, however, had reported Bush’s strange behaviour much earlier.

• Struggling candidates reach for '9/11 cards' - Well they're off - officially - in the race for the White House, and one-time frontrunners Rudy Giuliani and Hillary Clinton have stumbled out of the gates. What's a struggling New York pol to do? Never Forget. Clinton and Giuliani both broke out 9/11 references a day after the Iowa Caucuses upended the Democratic and Republican presidential campaigns. "None of this worries me - Sept. 11, there were times I was worried," Giuliani told the New York Daily News, brushing off his sub-Ron Paul finish in a state he virtually ignored. The former mayor, who left office three months after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, is an old hand at going to the 9/11 well when his political fortunes need a boost.

• Giuliani: Americans Are Part of a "9/11 Generation" - Rudy Giuliani says that Americans today are now part of a “9/11 Generation” whose greatest challenge will be to defeat the threat of global terrorism. Campaigning in the snowy hills of Wolfeboro, Giuliani gave a refined speech that made prevention of terror the target of his presidential appeal. Introduced by former FBI director Louis Freeh, the mayor read from prepared remarks, something he rarely does, the mayor said that ending Islamic terrorism will be his top priority as Commander in Chief. “We didn't seek this conflict, we didn't start this conflict, but we're going to finish this conflict, and we're going to win it,” said Giuliani.  (COMMENTARY: Funny I consider myself part of the 9/11 Truth generation... go figure!)

• CIA rejects 9/11 commission leaders criticism on destroyed tapes - The CIA on Wednesday rejected criticism from the leaders of a US commission that examined the attacks of September 11, 2001, saying the agency cooperated fully with the investigation. The co-chairmen of the blue ribbon 9/11 Commission, Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton, wrote in The New York Times on Wednesday that "recent revelations that the CIA destroyed videotaped interrogations of Qaeda operatives leads us to conclude that the agency failed to respond to our lawful requests for information about the 9/11 plot." Kean and Hamilton wrote that, although US President George W. Bush had ordered all executive branch agencies to cooperate with the probe, "Those who knew about those videotapes -- and did not tell us about them -- obstructed our investigation."

• The other side of post-9-11 security: Americans kept from entering Canada - Another side-effect of the post-Sept. 11 security mindset: Americans who used to enter Canada with a wave and a few friendly questions are finding themselves stopped cold by sometimes even youthful indiscretions. For some time, a drunken driving conviction was enough to deem a foreigner "inadmissible" because the crime is a felony in Canada. But until recently, experts say border agents were less likely to find out about a foreigner's drunken driving record, either because they didn't ask or because they didn't have extensive criminal history databases to check. It's affected people like Bob Hohman, a 54-year-old computer network security analyst from Roseville, Minn..

• Creeping Fascism: From Nazi Germany to Post 9/11 America, By Ray McGovern: Americans today are seeing the same sheepish submissiveness that characterized Germany after the burning of the Reichstag - "There are few things as odd as the calm, superior indifference with which I and those like me watched the beginnings of the Nazi revolution in Germany, as if from a box at the theater...Perhaps the only comparably odd thing is the way that now, years later...." These are the words of Sebastian Haffner (pen name for Raimund Pretzel), who as a young lawyer in Berlin during the 1930s experienced the Nazi takeover and wrote a first-hand account. His children found the manuscript when he died in 1999 and published it the following year as "Geschichte eines Deutschen" (The Story of a German). The book became an immediate bestseller and has been translated into 20 languages -- in English as "Defying Hitler."

• Giuliani: It was 'impossible' for the 9/11 firefighters to have working radios - Former New York City mayor and Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani talks to George Stephanopoulos about accusations that firefighters died on 9/11 due to radios that Giuliani himself knew weren't suitable for use. Giuliani has been personally blamed for the deaths of firefighters on September 11, 2001, including by NYFD Deputy Fire Chief James Riches, whose son, also a firefighter, died at Ground Zero. Giuliani is not only accused of providing faulty equipment, but also of ending the search for survivors too early.

• Former Italian President: 9/11 Op Run by CIA and Mossad - Former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio, has told Italy’s oldest and most widely read newspaper that the 9-11 terrorist attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad, and that this was common knowledge among global intelligence agencies. In what translates awkwardly into English, Cossiga told the newspaper Corriere della Sera: “All the [intelligence services] of America and Europe…know well that the disastrous attack has been planned and realized from the Mossad, with the aid of the Zionist world in order to put under accusation the Arabic countries and in order to induce the western powers to take part … in Iraq [and] Afghanistan.”

• CIA 'kept' tapes from 9/11 probe - A leaked memorandum from the former 9/11 commission says it made repeated requests to the CIA for information on the interrogation of al-Qaeda suspects. But ex-commission executive director Philip Zelikow says the CIA did not hand over tapes that have since come to light, the New York Times reported. The CIA later erased the footage, which allegedly contains images of abuse. The memo urges a further investigation into whether the agency acted illegally by withholding the recordings.

• Rudy evokes 9/11 to recharge campaign - With perhaps the most perilous phase of his candidacy just three weeks away, Rudy Giuliani Saturday hit the reset button, hoping to remind Republican voters why they liked him in the first place and to right a campaign that is on the defensive. Saying he's the one man who can "get it done" for the American people, Giuliani returned to the issue that made him a front-runner for most of the year: his image as a leader and the memory of the 9/11 attacks.

• Christie Whitman lied about Ground Zero air quality, 9/11 victims' lawyers say - Christie Whitman lied about air quality after the 9/11 attacks and should have to pay for medical monitoring and a cleanup, lawyers for lower Manhattan residents told an appeals court Monday. The lawyers urged a three-judge panel of the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals to uphold a lower court decision declaring the former head of the Environmental Protection Agency can be held personally responsible for her deceptive comments.

• Real spooks with new role after 9/11 - In a two-part programme on Radio 4, BBC security correspondent Gordon Corera looks into the shadowy world of Britain's security services, forced into radical change after 9/11. In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, only one plane was allowed to fly from Britain to the US. On board were Britain's top spy chiefs, including Eliza Manningham-Buller, then number two at MI5, and soon to be become the director general. They dined for an hour-and-a-half with a handful of American counterparts at CIA Headquarters in Langley, Virginia, and offered their unqualified support. Their long journey was appreciated by their American counterparts. "They didn't have to do that. They could have called," remembers one of the CIA officials present. The Americans revealed that they were already sure al-Qaeda was responsible, having recognised names off the passenger lists for the flights that had crashed.  

• 9/11 Responders Protest ME's Stand on Ground Zero Deaths - First responders gathered in front of the NYC Medical Examiner's office to protest how the ME has classified deaths seemingly related to Ground Zero illnesses. State Senator Eric Adams said he would introduce legislation making sure first responders who worked at Ground Zero will "get the same line-of-duty benefits" as September 11 victims. Recently, the ME's office has not named two rescuers, who worked at the World Trade Center site after September 11 and later died from complications of illnesses (seemingly caused by the toxic dust), as victims of the September 11 attacks. In fact, a letter ME Dr. Charles Hirsch sent to one of the families narrowed the definition of a 9/11 death: "All persons killed at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, and others who died later from complications of injury or exposure directly caused by the collapse of the twin towers on that day are homicide victims."

• US Roman Catholic Bishop: 9/11 was inside job - Bishop Richard Williamson, seemingly the most outspoken and controversial bishop of the Society of St. Pius X, asserted in a recent talk that the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks were committed "to get the American public to accept the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq," according to a news item by Jack Kenny in the Nov. 15, 2007 issue of The Wanderer. Bishop Williamson, whose talk was held Nov. 4, 2007 in Bedford, Mass., is quoted as saying: "Without 9-11, it would have been impossible to attack Afghanistan or Iraq. The forces inside the United States government and driving the United States government absolutely wanted to attack and destroy Iraq. The destruction wrought upon Iraq is unspeakable. And now the same forces want to do the same thing to Iran . . . They may well be plotting another 9-11."

• Study reviews post 9-11 laws - More than six years after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks prompted a rash of legislation limiting access to government information, authors of a congressionally funded study on those restrictions hope their findings will restore transparency. All states except South Dakota revised their open government laws after Sept. 11 because of fear that terrorists could use the information, said Jeffrey Addicott, director of the Center for Terrorism Law at St. Mary's University in Texas. He said he hopes the study will prompt the review of laws, such as the PATRIOT Act, which were passed hastily in the panic following the attacks.

• Alleged Trainer Of 9/11 Hijackers a CIA Informant: Sakka attempts to plug holes in 9/11 official story, claims Hanjour did not pilot Flight 77 - The man who claims to have trained six of the 9/11 hijackers is a paid CIA informant according to Turkish intelligence specialists, who also assert that Al-Qaeda is merely the name of a secret service operation designed to foment a strategy of tension around the world. In a London Times report, Louai al-Sakka, now incarcerated in a high-security Turkish prison 60 miles east of Istanbul, claims that he trained six of the 9/11 hijackers at a camp in the mountains near Istanbul from 1999-2000.

• 9/11 SUITS IN LEGAL LIMBO - The judge overseeing the lawsuits of thousands of sick 9/11 rescue workers says he won't speed up trials for several responders described as being "on death's door." Manhattan federal Judge Alvin Hellerstein refused a request to set early trials for three World Trade Center workers who suffer severe lung disease. "I'm not going to do that," Hellerstein said in court Nov. 16. He later heard details in his chambers about retired NYPD detective Michael Valentin, 43, retired NYPD officer Frank Maisano, 41, and Ground Zero morgue volunteer Mary Bishop, 45. "All three of them are on death's door," lawyer Paul Napoli said.

• OH MY GOD! THEM AMERICANS ARE USING THEIR BRAINS!  HOW DARE THEY... LOCK THEM UP!: 'BLAME U.S. FOR 9/11' IDIOTS IN MAJORITY: 'PLOTS' THICKEN IN SHOCKING POLL - Nearly two-thirds of Americans believe the federal government had warnings about 9/11 but decided to ignore them, a national survey found. And that's not the only conspiracy theory with a huge number of true believers in the United States. The poll found that more than one out of three Americans believe Washington is concealing the truth about UFOs and the Kennedy assassination - and most everyone is sure the rise in gas prices is one vast oil-industry conspiracy. Sixty-two percent of those polled thought it was "very likely" or "somewhat likely" that federal officials turned a blind eye to specific warnings of the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Only 30 percent said the 9/11 theory was "not likely," according to the Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll.

• 9/11 Families Counter Giuliani - New York firefighters, including two who lost sons in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, joined other victims' relatives Monday to argue that Rudy Giuliani's character and actions make him unfit to be president. Members of the group, 9/11 Firefighters and Families, long have been vocal critics of Giuliani's performance as New York mayor, but Monday marked their first trip to another state. For his part, Giuliani was in Mission, Texas, discussing border security. "They deserve a legacy of the facts, a true story about what happened to them, our city, and really to our country. That's why we're not going to give up," said a tearful Sally Regenhard, whose firefighter son died at the World Trade Center. "We want people to know the truth about Rudy Giuliani running for president as a false hero."

• 9/11 Firefighters and Family Members Plot Anti-Giuliani Ad Campaign: Group Considering Swift-Boat-Style Television Attack - A group of 9/11 firefighters and victims' family members with eyes on derailing Republican Rudy Giuliani's presidential campaign is close to a decision on forming an entity that would run issue ads in key early nominating states. "TV made him a hero, and we'll use TV to take him down," New York Fire Chief Jim Riches told ABC News. The final decision about the formation of an outside entity will happen sometime within the next few weeks after the group finalizes its plans at a meeting scheduled for after Thanksgiving. So far, though, under Riches' leadership, the group has sought legal guidance and help from political consultants. If the group decides to move forward, it would set up a 527 committee -- or something similar to Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, which in 2004 helped sink Democratic Sen. John Kerry's White House bid.

• Lee Hamilton Admits WTC 7 Issue Remains Unresolved - Cincinnati, Columbus and Seattle members of 911 Truth and We Are Change attended a Speech given by Lee Hamilton at Miami University in Hamilton, Ohio. Lee Hamilton is the former Vice Chairman of the 9/11 Commission. After the speech a few members of the audience were allowed to ask brief questions. After being heckled by the audience sycophants for pointing out the U.S. government's policy of rewarding terrorist states like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, a man asks Hamilton to comment on the collapse of Building 7.

• Homeland Security Links 9/11 Truthers to Taliban - Do you remember when Bush Jr. said, “either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists”? Well, he meant it. Homeland Security’s sub-committee on terrorism risk assessment convened a hearing on 11-06-2007 to discuss “using the Web as a weapon – the Internet as a tool for violent radicalization and homegrown terrorism.” In a video of this meeting, which was last aired by C-Span on 11-12-2007, members of the sub-committee clearly pointed to Internet sites that question the legitimacy of the official 9/11 story as tools for recruiting terrorists.

• The History of the Loose Change Phenomenon - 9/11 has clearly been the most important event of the 21st century, providing the basis for the US invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq and many other dimensions of the “war on terror.” There is, accordingly, no more important question than whether the official account of 9/11 is true. The main purpose of the “Loose Change” series of films is to explore various unanswered questions about 9/11 - questions that, by virtue of being unanswered by any official body, raise doubts about the truth of the official account.

• Britain to toughen security at stations and airports: Brown to unveil anti-terror plans - Plans to protect public places, railway stations and other key buildings from terrorist attacks are due to be launched by the prime minister. The security minister, Lord West, was asked to draw up the proposals after the summer's attempted bombings in London and at Glasgow Airport. Gordon Brown warned that attacks could hit "anywhere and from any place". He is also due to unveil a report on a planned border force which combines immigration, customs and visa staff.

• 9/11 Truth - We’ve got the BBC on the run - Since July 2007 British scientist, member of Scholars for 9/11 Truth & Justice and RINF science correspondent, John A. Blacker, has been in an ongoing battle with the BBC over their lie infested hit piece programme ‘9/11: The Conspiracy Files’, which aired in February 2007 and was designed to present an unfair view of the 9/11 truth movement and prominent researchers. Mr Blacker is currently in ‘pre-action protocol’ with the BBC, meaning they have to try and settle the argument out of court.

• BBC To Apologize For 9/11 Truth Hit Piece?: Scandal-hit network desperately scrambles to offset legal action over lies and bias in February 2007 documentary - The BBC could be forced to apologize and admit mass public deception for airing a documentary on the 9/11 truth movement that was clearly riddled with errors, lies and bias, as the scandal-hit corporation desperately squirms to avoid a potential court case brought by a British scientist. John A. Blacker, a qualified physicist & mechanical engineer and a member of Scholars for 9/11 Truth & Justice, is currently engaged in a pre-action protocol with the BBC in an attempt to settle out of court and get an apology from the broadcaster as well as a guarantee that the program will never be shown on television again. In a letter to the BBC, Blacker cites a catalogue of errors, distortions and outright lies that were contained in the program, arguing that the documentary is an insult to those that lost their lives on 9/11.

• NFL Star Considered 9/11 a False Flag From Day One: Super Bowl winner and former Dallas Cowboys ace Stepnoski goes further during radio interview - Former Dallas Cowboys Super-Bowl winner and five time Pro Bowler Mark Stepnoski said in a radio interview yesterday (Thursday) that anybody who still believes the official story of 9/11 is either incredibly naive or in complete denial, as he revealed how he considered the event to be a possible false flag operation on the very day it happened. Stepnoski went public in an interview with the Pennsylvania based Erie-Times newspaper on Sunday, but during an interview on The Alex Jones Show he went further and revealed that his questions about 9/11 began on the very day of the attacks.

• New Study Released On Respiratory Problems For 9/11 Workers - A new study released this month shows state employees who worked at the World Trade Center site after the toxic dust cloud cleared are suffering from the same respiratory problems as workers who were there during the actual September 11th terrorist attacks – just to a lower degree. The study by the New York State Department of Health looked at more than 1,400 state police, National Guard members, and state Department of Transportation workers, including 110 who were in the dust cloud when the Twin Towers fell. Of those studied, one-third arrived during the first two days after the attacks and 57 percent arrived before Sept. 16, 2001.

• Millions undergo background checks under post-9/11 laws - Already this year, 25 million Americans have had background checks by the federal government, a number that's risen every year since the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Amid the rise, a notable shift has occurred: More civilians are now checked each year than criminals. And checks on the vast majority come back clean, even as states allot more money for their growing screening operations. And, in rare cases, predators still slip through the cracks. Take Timothy Stephen Keil, an Ohio church camp counselor recently convicted of molesting two young boys. Or Ralph Fiscale, a New Hampshire soccer coach, and Stephen Unger Jr., a Texas schoolteacher, both of whom committed similar offenses in the past year. All were either not run through a check by their superiors, or they passed one. Civil libertarians say the tradeoffs of such a system, built largely through state mandates enacted since the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, have become too high.

A variety of red, gold and orange leaves are intertwined with wreaths, candles and pumpkins. A fragrant spicy aroma fills the lower level of the home while laughter from the second floor bedrooms filters downstairs. The household was much different last year. The holiday season wasn't going to be shared by everyone as the family patriarch was serving overseas, fulfilling both a personal mission and one ordered by the nation's commander in chief. When the two commercial airliners crashed into the New York Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001, like Americans across the country, Uniontown resident Jaison Pisczek was angry. It took a couple of years for the 1990 Connellsville Area Senior High School graduate to decide just what he should do, but in 2004 he made up his mind and enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve.

• Hillary Denies Attending Bilderberg, Confirms Bill Did - Members of Student Scholars for 9/11 Truth recently asked Hillary Clinton about her attendance at the 2006 Bilderberg Meeting-- which she emphatically denied. She laughed uncomfortably before declaring that she had "no idea what they were talking about" at Bilderberg Meetings since she "wasn't there." However, she did acknowledge that Bill Clinton had attended in 1992, but maintained that she herself had never been. This denial goes against reports from insiders at the Brookstreet Hotel in Ottawa who claimed she attended the 2006 meeting for one day. Witnesses saw a number of vehicles which unloaded in back loading dock, away from the public's view, including a stretch limousine with U.S. diplomatic plates.

• Sibel Edmonds Case: the untellable story of AIPAC - Last week, former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds, announced that she was willing to tell everything that she knows if any of the major networks are willing to give her airtime, without airbrushing the essence of her case. Bradblog will have an update on the progress, or lack of it, next week. Of course, Sibel would prefer to testify under oath in congress, but apparently our Democratic Congresscritters (I’m looking at you, Waxman) don’t care about the treason, bribery, and corruption that has hijacked US foreign policy. Meanwhile, last week we learnt that the judge in the AIPAC case has allowed subpoenas to be issued to 15 current and former high-level officials. Many of us are excited about the prospect of the trial - but Sibel assures us that the case, as it stands, is just the tip of the iceberg. ‘AIPAC’ is at the core of Sibel’s case, and Sibel’s story needs to be heard - either in Congress, or in the media

• Government's 9/11 Investigators Were ALSO Lead OKC Bombing Investigators - Would you be surprised to learn that the exact same investigators who headed up the government's investigation into the World Trade Center collapses and the Pentagon attack on 9/11 also headed up the government's investigation into the Oklahoma City bombing? The WTC collapses, Pentagon attack and OKC bombing involved assessments of entirely different kinds of structures inflicted with different kinds of damage. And there are 1.5 million engineers in the U.S., many of them highly-qualified to investigate attacks and their damage. And yet the authors of the official report on the Murrah Federal Building -- Gene Corley, Charles Thornton, Paul Mlaker, and Mete Sozen -- were all among the initial team of the American Society of Civil Engineers' 9/11 investigation. Several of these individuals have strong connections to industries that benefited from the attack, and that would suffer if it were known that 9/11 was an inside job, such as armaments makers and oil and gas producers.

• The 9/11 shadow on the 2008 election - Even on a bitterly cold November day, visitors to the Flight 93 memorial deep in rural Pennsylvania arrive in their dozens. They bow their heads in contemplation as they pay their respects to the 59 passengers and crew who died on September 11, 2001 – and began America’s fight back against the jihadists. The events of 9/11 play significant if largely silent backdrop to the 2008 race for the White House. Rudy Giuliani, the Republican front runner and New York’s mayor that day, refers to his role much less frequently than before. Hillary Clinton, the New York senator, also mentions it only rarely.

• EU unveils air passenger 'risk profiling' plan - The European Union is set to emulate the US by adopting the wholesale screening and profiling of air passengers. In a proposed Framework Decision being put forward today, the European Commission calls for the collection of Passenger Name Record (PNR) data for all flights into and out of the EU, together with a "risk assessment" system that will effectively profile all passengers. The move confirms predictions that Europe's long term answer to the US PNR system is to match it, and to keep step with the US terror-tracking system as it evolves. The US Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system, like the proposed EU one, will screen passengers for risk and produce watchlists, sharing the data and the results between EU states.

• Brian Haw: “9-11 was an inside job” - British anti war campaigner, Brian Haw, talks about 9/11, this is very short clip but a much longer one (about an hour) will be uploaded soon. Brian has been living in a peace camp in Parliament Square since 2001.

• Flashback: Robertson Agreed That America "Deserved" 9/11 - In light of Pat Robertson's endorsement today of former NYC Mayor and Churchillian 9/11 hero Rudy Giuliani, it seems worth recalling that even as the smoke was still rising from the site a few days later, Robertson had this to say about the disaster in a TV appearance with Jerry Falwell: "God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve," said Falwell, appearing yesterday on the Christian Broadcasting Network's "700 Club," hosted by Robertson. Falwell said the American Civil Liberties Union has "got to take a lot of blame for this," again winning Robertson's agreement: "Well, yes."

• Loose Change Final Cut – UK Preview: By Mick Meaney, RINF Alternative News - Saturday, 3rd November, 2007, saw the British preview screening of the much anticipated 9/11 truth blockbuster, ‘Loose Change Final Cut’. Before the screening began, Tim Sparke, executive producer of Loose Change 3, gave us a brief thank you and intro, he welcomed us by saying: “By the end of this, you’re going to be knackered!”. And he wasn’t wrong. Mr Sparke also stayed around afterwards to answer questions. He clearly stated that all sources in the film were taken from mainstream media, which makes it all the more unbelievable that the propitiators are able to get away with such a crime. When asked how much the film cost to produce, he said “close to $1 million dollars”, but added “we could have made it more cinematic”. Mr Sparke also said: “Obviously we would like to cover our costs but we plan to donate some of the profit to those suffering with health problems as a result of working at Ground Zero”. A noble gesture indeed. David Ray Griffin had his part to play in the latest and possibly last offering from the Loose Change team. Professor Griffin ‘fact checked’ the film. It also appears that David Ray Griffin is being considered for a Nobel Peace Prize nomination.

• "War Criminal" Ex-MI6 Head Dearlove Confronted At Event: Man who admitted "intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy" of invading Iraq grilled on 7/7, Bilderberg membership, forced to leave after being called proxy mass murderer - Author of the infamous Downing Street Memo and ex-MI6 head Sir Richard Dearlove was confronted and branded a "war criminal" by audience members who attended his talk at the London School of Economics last night, before being hounded out of the building - but subsequent media coverage of the event completely failed to mention the controversy. Ironically, during a lecture in which Dearlove pushed the notion of how the media should acquiesce to government demands in reporting aspects of sensitive stories, in their write-up of the talk, the BBC omitted any details of how Dearlove was intensively questioned and eventually forced to leave by members of We Are Change UK.   (MUST SEE!!! - VIEW THE VIDEO BELOW)

• Rudy Faces Probe Into 9/11 Firefighter Radio Fiasco - Here's something that could put another dent in Rudy's 9/11 halo: Giuliani is now facing a New York City government investigation into his handling of the radios used by firefighters on 9/11. The Huffington Post reports that the probe's goal is to get to the bottom of an enduring charge against Giuliani -- that because of his negligence the radios used by the FDNY on 9/11 were the same ones that malfunctioned during the 1993 World Trade Center attack. HuffPo says that more than 20,000 people have signed a petition demanding the investigation.

• Martin Sheen Questions Official 9/11 Story: Follows in footsteps of son Charlie Sheen, highlights implausible collapse of WTC 7, asks why building was "rigged" - Actor Martin Sheen questioned the official 9/11 story, as well as the collapse of Building 7 and Larry Silverstein's "pull it" comment during an anti-war march this past weekend in Los Angeles, saying that recent revelations about the attacks had caused him to have doubts. Sheen was interviewed by We Are Change L.A. along with fellow actor Mark Ruffalo during an event hosted by the ANSWER Coalition at which around 20,000 people attended.

• George Carlin Questions "Received Reality" Of 9/11 Story: Grammy award winning comedian, actor says new investigation would be whitewash - Grammy-winning American stand-up comedian, actor, and author George Carlin spoke of his doubts about the official 9/11 story during a recent appearance at Borders bookstore in New York City, just a few blocks away from ground zero. Asked what he thought of the 9/11 truth movement and how Bill Maher's show was interrupted by truthers last week, Carlin responded, "I always question the received reality."

• Beck: 9/11 Truthers "Insane", "Dangerous Anarchists", "The Kind Of Group A Timothy McVeigh Would Come From": CNN host lays into truth movement in vicious attack - CNN host Glen Beck viciously attacked the 9/11 truth movement last night on his Headline Prime show, describing the whole movement as "insane" and branding 9/11 activists as "dangerous anarchists". Beck singled out 9/11 truthers in a segment in response to the infiltration of Real Time with Bill Maher by We Are Change protesters last week. In a piece that we would normally associate with the "fair and balanced" Fox News, Beck featured two guests who BOTH argued against 9/11 truth, as well as throwing in his own two cents.

We are happy to announce the final details on the upcoming release of Loose Change Final Cut. 

Many of you have asked us about a main stream theater release and are aware that we spent considerable time in Hollywood negotiating with different producers.  After many hours of consideration, we decided that a Hollywood release just isn't right for Loose Change.  In order to access the normal "big movie" distribution channels, we would have to relinquish editorial control of the film.  This just wasn't an option for us, as the integrity of our message is ultimately all that we have, and we feared that corporate mainstream would corrupt or squash our film and its movement.

Our viewers have proven that amazing success is possible through grassroots distribution.  Loose Change 2nd edition has been viewed over 80 million times, and we intend to triple that, at least, with Loose Change Final Cut.  We have decided to challenge the traditional marketing channels and reinvent the way that films are distributed. 

Loose Change Final Cut will be available at 12:01 AM, EST, on November 11, 2007 as a digital download.  One week later, the DVD will start shipping – in your hands in time for Thanksgiving in the US.  In December 2007, we will be working with theaters that have already committed to showing the film and looking to our grassroots supporters to get their local theaters to show the film.  The immediate success of the DVD and digital version will ensure the content of the film remains untouched while grabbing the interest of independent theaters throughout the world.

Distribution of the film will be done directly through the Loose Change site, through Prison Planet (Alex Jones), and through Joining the Dots TV (Mercury Media in the UK).  Digital versions will retail for $6.95, and the DVD will be $19.95.

• Loose Change Final Cut Release Date Announced: Internet phenomenon to arrive November 11th, features all-new material and interviews - After many months of anticipation, a release date has finally been announced for Loose Change Final Cut, the pre-eminent 9/11 truth documentary. The film, which features all-new material and interviews, will hit the web on November 11th and also be available to order on DVD that same day. The original Loose Change and Loose Change 2nd Edition have been viewed at least 50 million times over the Internet, making it one of the most watched movies in history, but the Final Cut goes above and beyond, making it not simply the third in a trilogy but a completely new film with oodles of unseen footage, commentary, interviews and eyewitness testimony.

• Bill Maher: Corporate Media Gatekeeper and Security Guard: Activist from We Are Change LA gets under the skin of corporate shill - After HBO employee Bill Maher lent a hand in evicting a “rowdy protester” from his show on Friday, the Associated Press wasted no time characterizing him as a “security guard” for the effort. “Maher on Friday night helped security remove a rowdy protester from the studio during his weekly HBO show ‘Real Time with Bill Maher,’ and it was all captured on live television,” including the point made by the so-called protester. “Maher was talking science during one of his weekly panel discussions when a protester in his audience stood up, held up a smuggled-in sign reading ‘9/11 is a cover up fraud’ and shouted comments to the same effect.”

• 9/11 truthers Infiltrate Bill Maher Audience You Tube - At least 6 members of We Are Change LA were hauled out of Bill Mahers "Real Time". During the live taping of tonights show Members of We Are Change LA stood up and interupted the show with 9/11 questions. One member was thrown to the ground, roughed up and hauled out by security. Another member was taunted when a security gaurd took his hat and threw it. 

• 9/11 Worker's Kin Rejects Death Ruling - Fresh from ruling that World Trade Center dust did not kill a police detective, a medical examiner offered the man's relatives other reasons Friday for his death, an explanation the family found "not acceptable," their lawyer said. Chief Medical Examiner Charles Hirsch would not publicly elaborate on his findings in the death of James Zadroga, who had worked hundreds of hours in the toxic dust at ground zero after the Sept. 11 attacks, Hirsch's spokeswoman said. Hirsch asked the family not to disclose what he told them, said Michael Barasch, the Zadrogas' attorney. "Dr. Hirsch felt that there were other reasons for Zadroga's death. The family disagrees with it. I disagree with it," Barasch said. The doctor "came up with reasons that were not acceptable to us," the attorney said.

• 9/11 should be campaign material - It came as a surprise to many political observers that Hillary Clinton, not Rudy Giuliani, was the first 2008 presidential candidate to use 9/11 images in a campaign ad. Predictably, she was criticized in some quarters for “exploiting” the tragedy for political gain. Given the raw feelings that 9/11 still generates, and the Bush administration’s manipulation of the tragedy to sell the country on an ill-conceived war, it is understandable that this is a heavily laden subject.

• U.S. ‘Terrorologist’ Webster Tarpley Tours Britain To Reveal 9/11 Truth - Since 9/11, evidence has come to light that contradicts that day’s infamous terrorist attack. American historian Webster Tarpley argues that this is nothing new, serious inconsistencies have been associated with terror attacks for hundreds of years throughout the Western world. Whilst much post 9/11 evidence has been well sourced it has trickled out, having far less impact than the official narrative which holds Islamic fanatics entirely responsible. The end result is that press and public are left confused and disorientated by a lack of resolution to one of the biggest stories of our age. Terrorology is a growing discipline that seeks to bring academic rigour and reasoned argument to analysing this highly emotive subject.

• New Film Exposes How Rudy Failed Firefighters On 9/11 - Filmmaker Robert Greenwald has released another explosive short documentary film about Rudy Giuliani, this time highlighting the former New York City mayor’s controversial handling of radios used by the city’s fire department on Sept. 11. Greenwald is also petitioning the New York City Council to launch an investigation into the matter. The web video, released Monday by Brave New Films, alleges that during his administration Giuliani failed to equip the FDNY with adequate, let alone functioning, communication equipment. That in turn created massive problems on 9/11 and may have contributed to the unnecessary deaths of dozens of servicemen.

• Cynthia McKinney’s Big Issue - 9/11 Truth: Courage Under Fire - A constant thorn in the US government’ side, controversial former congresswoman Cynthia Mckinney tells Helena Drakakis why the authorities have been revealed as ‘huge liars’. Cynthia McKinney hates the word ‘conspiracy’. As a former democrat and congresswoman she is never more than one step away from controversy, and she’s in London to promote the 9/11 Truth Movement, an organisation which disputes the official version of the Twin Towers attacks in 2001.

• 9/11 TRUTH: ICELANDIC SCHOLAR ELIAS DAVIDSSON’S UK TOUR - Elias Davidsson is an Iceland-based musical composer, human rights campaigner and researcher. He was born in Palestine in 1941 to Jewish refugees from Germany and grew up in Jerusalem in a neighbourhood where Jews, Muslims and Christians lived in peace together, which as he says has permanently coloured his outlook on current Middle Eastern problems. Although he has no university background he describes himself as an “independent scholar in international law and human rights”, with the emphasis on ‘scholar’. His articles in the fields of international law and human rights have been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Netherlands Quarterly of Human Rights, International Journal of Human Rights and Florida Journal of International Law and International Legal Theory (published by the American Society of International Law). He is among the very few Icelanders, including tenured professors, whose articles have been published in such periodicals.

• Feds may have sought surveillance before 9/11 - Former Qwest Communications International Chief Executive Joseph Nacchio said the National Security Agency (NSA) approached Qwest more than six months before the Sept. 11 attacks about an unidentified NSA program, according to court documents unsealed this week. Nacchio, who is appealing a conviction for insider trading, also said the government withdrew a $200 million contract after Qwest refused to participate in an NSA program the company's top lawyer said was illegal. Details about the alleged NSA program have been removed from the documents, but Nacchio's lawyer said last year that the NSA had approached the company about participating in a warrantless-surveillance program to gather information about Americans' phone records.
